Gee, if only there was an overinflated portion of the budget from which they could transfer revenue...

Gee, if only there was an overinflated portion of the budget from which they could transfer revenue... Which would mean soldiers don't get their paychecks. If the debt ceiling is not increased, then the US government can only pay about half of its obligations.

Shit, I'm on SSI and just recently moved into a new apartment not to mention that I do have bills coming up. So yeah I am worried about this because my complex and my utilities companies do not care if you don't have the money, they will still bill you and if your late then they add charges to your bill. So yeah, thanks Repugs for making life even more difficult.
Sorry, but if I were President, I wouldn't be targeting the populace, that is, punishing the public because certain politicians want to play games. No, I'd would hard ball it and tell those diddley watters that if they don't agree/come up with a solution by Aug 3, it will be THEIR paychecks that will be cut and/or stopped.
Punish the politicians, not the American people.

Radiation, it wouldn't be enough money. There is absolutely no way for the public to not be hurt if we default.

Still, hitting their pocketbooks will make them stand up and pay a-fucking-ttention...and maybe get something actually done in a reasonable amount of time.

I actually suspect Obama pointing out the reality with social security is designed to pressure the Republicans. Their base relies upon it for income (what with the retirees). Too bad the teabaggers don't comprehend politics.

Punish the politicians, not the American people. The difference between you and a good chunk of people on SSI, though, is that you are smart enough to realize that this is the Rethuglicans playing games and fucking you over. They haven't convinced you to vote against yourself like the majority of their base does. Unlike my mother, who is on SSI. While she was visiting me in Chicago she actually made a crack about that "guy from Kenya pretending to be president and turning this country socialist". Seriously, she said that. I actually had a Fry moment where I wasn't sure if trolling or just stupid...so I reminded her where she was and that SOCIAL security paid for her train ticket...
