Again, I'm not saying that any of the hypothetical applies here. This was straight up hate crime. The only difference it would make (based on the question Dasfuchs asked) is that of "misplaced sense of self defense" versus "kill the tranny!" Neither is justifiable, but one is more fucking evil of a motive. In this case, it was the latter motivation.

I have gone into the men's room with no one stopping me. O.o I am not sure what to think of this. Also, women's restrooms are always so crowded. But men's rooms are icky. Men are less bothered by it. Historically, men have not had to worry as much about sexual assault. And as one who has to clean both men's and women's bathrooms, I can say that both are disgusting. Just in different ways. |

I didn't read the article in depth, was she beaten because she was trans, or because she was using the women's restroom? Thus far it seems because she used the restroom and Brown disagreed with her having the right to use that one. I mean without a picture does the girl look manish? Maybe thought she was some sort of cross dresser? If it were strictly because she was trans what stopped the two from jumping her the minute they saw her? Does it really fucking matter? Are you suggesting it's okay to beat somebody to a seizure for wanting to use the bathroom you perceive as wrong? No I'm not, please stop reading shit that ain't there. Christ I'm tired of all this ass covering everyone has to do to prevent stupid shit like that I was asking goddamned questions because the article and the video it linked didn't say very much about the base issues. Though, I have to say that gas station bathrooms are both super icky in the same way. D: Why don't people bother to clean up after themselves in gas station bathrooms? ICKY PEOPLE! FLUSH YOUR TOILET AFTER YOU GO! I dun wanna have to flush that... crap. Literally. Re: Trans or random beat up- No, it was pretty heavily a hate crime. But even then that doesn't excuse beating someone up until they seize. Mkay? |

This. Also because you generally DO tend to say what we're talking about, even if you don't realize you're saying it. How you word things, or the logical extremes of some of your statements lead to uncomfortable places. If you have a problem with this, I'd suggest learning how to communicate better. Say what you mean, or mean what you say. If you are simply playing the devil's advocate, might want to state this. Also, simply stating that the other side is "wrong" as a motive for continuing to argue means that you are denying the possibility that you are also wrong. In any reasoned debate, it is best for both sides of the debate to enter it with the knowledge that they could be wrong and open to information. On the other hand, if one person has already determined that the other person is wrong simply because "they're wrong", then debate cannot happen. I'm telling you this because, quite frankly, as much as I hate you, I also like you, and I want you to stay and be a productive member of our forum. At the same time, you have a lot of opinions and such that may, in the right context, provide great input, and may contribute to a healthier community. |
