Except that they were already investigating from the threats, and they only responded to say they were already investigating, and so wanted to stop getting E-mails.
The investigation was brought on because of that one dude's Batman Gambit.

Well, the petition helped because every time someone signed it the Montreal Police got an email. There was something like 5,000 signatures. That got their attention.
So, to recap, the police only took action after the victims of death threat spam spammed them and the death threat spammer himself sent them his death threats. Way to go Montreal Police!

I think the petition helped. I think the moral of the story here is that if you want anything to get done, you have to bombard the police with emails until they agree to look into it if you give them some peace and quiet. That's how to get most people/organizations to do stuff. |

I doubt it was his mother. He probably panicked and tried to cover his ass when he realized that he might be in trouble. I also noticed how pathetic Markuze's last postings were and to me it smelled of lame CYA. This all reminded me of another Canadian troll, Jamie Baillie (aka "Spamtard") - though he never made any overt death threats a la Markuze, he could be just as annoying (taking his net abuse to RL, filing false reports to his "enemies" ' ISPs and their local police), and his mother seemed to shrug off his actions. At least FSTDT will be free of Mabus diarrhea for now. And he has ruined any appreciation I had for Depeche Mode. Edit: I was reading this in a Toronto Sun article: Eva (Markuze) said she doesn’t believe the accusations.
