www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44149385/ns/travel-news/#.Tk1mV80hD4IThis entire article is just terrifying. Here are a few of the different bits that I found the most disturbing: I don't know about you guys, but I don't particularly like random people trying to make small talk with me in public, especially if I have places to be. I'm not even that good at eye contact in general. The two of those pretty much guarantee that I'll be suspected of... something. So, unless I misunderstand this concept, frequent flyers will undergo less scrutiny since they're more recognizable. Seems like a self-forming loophole to me, if the idea of these "security screenings" is to let people through after a few flights, how hard would it be to establish a credible MO before taking advantage of it and hijacking the plane? Or is there something I'm missing in this little plan of theirs? Aren't prison jumpsuits typically one piece? Just sayin'. There is so much wrong with this. No possible good can come from watching everyone's every move 24/7. 1984 was a warning, not a guide.

That right there would guarantee that I would never fly. I have two mental illness, have severe anxiety and am considered borderline Aspie. I cannot mantain eye contact with even close family members or friends. I am a very shy and nervouse person and having a coherent conversation is very difficult for me - especially if large crowds of people trigger my anxiety, or any other situation that is going to overwhelm and confuse me. It is easier on the internet because I can see my thoughts written on the screen before I hit the reply button, and thus make what I want to convey somewhat readible - often in everyday conversation what I want to say does not come out right and I sound weird (see: mental illnesses).
I have never been through an airport before by if it was the first time I would be very anxious, and avoiding eye contact, sweating profusely, becoming confused and stammering through conversation would be all I could manage - and that is only if the situation does not overwhelm me completely, I have a breakdown and/or freak out and run away. And I would be like that EVERY time I would go through situations like airport security, no matter how farmiliar with the routine I am.
If I was targeted for extra screening based solely on my behaviour, and the questions and searches became more intense this would automatically increase my anxiety and confusion to the point where I would be nearly unable to function, resulting in me probably missing my flight because of detainment (or hospitalization).
Interacting in public is already goddamn nightmare situations for people with social anxieties and mental illness like me - and if the things in the article are implemented, it will only make things a lot worse for people who stuggle to cope.
Sheesh and people wonder why I don't like to get out much. (Sorry guys, rant over!)

Like they give a damn about the disabled.
No offense intended, as I'm severely OCD and have several "ticks" which would pull me out of line faster than if I screamed "I have a bomb!"

Armed goons in black uniforms trying to make small talk with me? Good way to reduce the population of armed goons in black uniforms. They want my guitar, they are gonna have to die for it.
The surveilance socioty we are increasingly subjected to, offends me deeply. Keep your streetwatching spy cams out of my face.

You, bare-handed or at most with a blunt instrument, vs. an airport full of armed security personnel including plainclothes federal marshals. You are at a Frank Dux level overestimation of your own martial skills, my friend. Not only would you die, quickly, you'd be the unequivocal bad guy in the scenario from going from "officially mandated small talk" to "attempted murder".

These measures are completely stupid. Going through customs and security made even me a little nervous, and I've never broken even traffic laws. BUT- the security agents are just doing their jobs. It's the people at top that make the stupid decisions. Blaming the person watching the scanner for the decisions made by some rich person in an office in Washington is pointless.
Edited for typos.

I'd fail the questions test. I've been on planes a lot, and I still get nervous going through security. And I have issues with eye contact and making small talk.
And seriously, all you'd need to pass the test is to be a really good actor or someone skilled in counter-counter-terrorism. In other words, any actual terrorist.

Well, there goes me ever going through an airport ever again.
As much as I try to maintain eye contact, if I don't know you, I'm probably going to be looking everywhere BUT you as hard as I try.
Meanwhile, the people who have the guts to pull off a hijacking are going to be the ones who ARE confident and who DON'T look like a threat.
