If the lesbian couple is feeling merciful, they may simply only sue them for a token amount, to make the bad PR and the legal defense costs sting a bit. If they aren't, I suspect they may shortly make a smoking fiscal crater out of a certain bridal shop.

I really fail to see how "we don't support anything illegal" is any kind of defense or excuse. I should be able to buy a wedding dress and then go mud wrestling with it on and it would still be ok. A dress does not define any kind of legal or illegal action. Hell they could be in a church in their dresses, and even sign a marriage contract it wont be illegal, just not legally recognized.
Bigotry gives me a headache.

Sadly, there is no legal standing to sue them. A private retail establishment can refuse service to anyone they like and they don't have to even provide a reason. The worst this unfortunate couple can do is be as loud as possible about it and give the store as much bad publicity as possible.

You can't get anymore bad PR than that...

This is entirely untrue. It is illegal in New Jersey, as well as in many other states, for private businesses to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. The state governments have the power to pass laws controlling intra-state commerce, including passing laws regarding ethical business practices.

The citizens work hard to maintain New Jersey's reputation. Nothing illegal has ever happened there.
