OK, I'm waiting on an answer on whether or not diabetics are accepted because the one agency said they require a urinalysis to test for drugs, alcohol and diabetes. Uh oh. If I can't do it just because of this I'm going to go insane and eat the liver of every person in a five mile radius!!! D:

Well, the recruiting agent said as long as it's well controlled it shouldn't be a problem. Huzzah!! OK, back to work!

Cool. If it's what you want. Just so you know that teh life is especially hard on young ones. It's not nice to wake up when yer forty and find that you're lonely and have missed out on committed relationships. And even when you have one the stress is hard, very hard. Then there's the finding of like minded people who understand the life. That's hard too.

Then there's the finding of like minded people who understand the life. That's hard too. Because relationships and children are all there is to life, right? I know it's different for you, but I've been alone my whole life and I'm enjoying it. I don't see myself getting married or settling down. How many times do I have to tell you that? I know you're just trying to warn me but it feels too much like you're trying to tell me I won't like it and that I should settle down instead. So if you have nothing else to add, kindly GTFO this thread. Thanks.

Just like you can't fathom what someone can do with a fat woman (something you were fond of arguing about on the other boards)? She could meet someone on the boat. She could even meet someone in her 40's. A number of people don't start their lives until their 30's to 40's. She might even decide she enjoys life more alone. People do that as well. So telling her she'll be 'All Alone in her 40's' just because she's going away for a time is as stupid as your previous fat-girl rant. Aqualung, if you're getting paid to do what you love the go for it, especially if it gets you away from your current job. The other pieces of your life will fall into place from there. Once again, best of luck to you.

Well if you get into it and find out that you don't like it, you can always quit. Just wait until you're close to home

Well if you get into it and find out that you don't like it, you can always quit. Just wait until you're close to home Exactly. Contracts can be anywhere from three to ten months, not forever. I'm not going to "wake up at forty" and suddenly think I've wasted my life; if I don't like it I'll know. It's the same as if Death would've said I'd regret not having kids. Maybe, maybe not. But don't presume to tell me what I will or won't enjoy in life.

But don't presume to tell me what I will or won't enjoy in life. I never presumed anything. Just shared what my and my friends experiences are. It is a very fulfilling life if you understand what it takes. I basically made the choice. Chose not to have lots of children, chose not to have family relationships or settle down long enough in any one place to make friends. Some people can do that, some can't. That's all I'm saying.
