I'm back in my place after two days without power. CVPS was estimating MORE, one of the reasons I left in the first place. The only food I have left is dried goods and what I could carry out of here. My street was blocked off in three directions and there was no traffic on the fourth, so I had to walk up just to get a ride
The flooding was crazy here. I still stand by my sentiment that it was AWESOME, but it doesn't change the fact that I lost power and had to flee yet ANOTHER building this year.
Oh well, at least I could come back to this one....
So...How the Hell have the rest of you been?

The news called for Irene to be really bad here and we got off lucky compared to Philly and NJ. Parts of them were flooded pretty badly.
I didn't even lose power, although the tornado warnings and watches were a bit nerve wracking.
At least you're back safely.

My brother got off pretty light, considering they were talking doom and gloom in NYC. He was AMAZED we had trouble up here. I have a brief video of my street being flooded, and my mom got some pictures.
I hear there's a lot of stuff on Youtube, but I haven't been online that long and I haven't bothered to look.
Oh yeah, I also got calls from people in like four or five states telling me we were in the national news.

The storm here in Connecticut wasn't that bad, actually. Just some fairly strong winds and rain. For some reason though, almost the entire state was out of power. My town was out for 4 days, and other towns close by probably won't be back on for another day or two. The news called for Irene to be really bad here and we got off lucky compared to Philly and NJ. I'm glad you made it through just fine. I was concerned about those tornado warnings too. Lucky you didn't lose power.

Our power was out for good reason, and last I knew, some of the surrounding towns still didn't have any. I have the benefit of living downtown, so I was kind of a priority.

Yeah, I was amazed I didn't lose power, the other hurricanes through here haven't been as close to the shore and left me without electricity for a few hours to 2 days. I was starting to wonder if that tree you mentioned fell down since you hadn't been on in a while.

You see this? You let a black man in the Whitehouse, and suddenly you get hurricanes all up in your WASP states! This never would have happened when George W. was President!

That sounds rather unpleasant. It's nice to know you east-coasters are safe.
Any chance of us seeing that video you took, Amaranth?

I hope this has cleared things up for you.
