shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/kids-lose-quot-bad-mother-quot-lawsuit-cant-take-mom-to-court-over-bad-birthday-cards-2536188/Yikes! I'm not cool with the comments about slapping the one upside the head once, but reading this article really shocked me. These are grown kids and they're bitching about not getting a check in their birthday cards?! I wonder if things like this will become more prevalent in the future, as sometimes it seems like some kids (even grown ones, apparently) feel more entitled than ever before. Thoughts? Oh, and as an example, I had a student a few years ago who said that whenever she wanted new stuff and her parents wouldn't buy it for her, she'd just break it so they would "have" to get it for her....omg!

I on the other hand, am perfectly cool with giving the twits a good smack.
For idiots like that, it can only be a good thing.

What spoiled brats. And breaking things so your parents "have" to get it for you? What the hell?

Some kids in America don't get to eat. What makes you (referring to these idiots) think that you are entitled to your mother's money!?

Looks like there's more to it than simple "entitlement". Can you say "manipulative, spite filled father"?

Not that I ever want to be a parent, but I'd take immense pleasure in saying something like "You can get a new one as soon as you can pay for it" or "I was gonna get you something really nice, but since you can't be trusted to take care of it..."

I think everyone is entitled to stuff they need to survive, like housing and food. No one should have to be homeless or hungry.
And yes, kids are entitled to food and care from their parents until a certain age. But birthday money in your 20s? Get a job.

Ditto. Those shenanigans would end REAL quick.
