This is interesting. Almost seems like democracy, but I'm not sure an Internet petition can really reflect "the will of the people".

*applauds* I wholeheartedly support all the initiatives thus far listed here (yea, even the cannabis-related ones, despite not being a pothead myself).
ADDENDUM: If "In God We Trust" is to be removed from U.S. currency, I think it'd be best if the government also once again made the nation's motto "From Many, One" (in English or its original Latin; doesn't matter to me).

The majority of them are really good ideas. Not just legalizing pot, but also things like ending corporate personhood and ending software patents. Not that anything is likely to actually get done, because campaign finance corruption takes precedence.

Wait...ending software patents? Elaboration, please. Not necessarily software, but Samsung, HTC, Apple etc. are in some sort of elaborate mobile patent battle.

Wait...ending software patents? Elaboration, please. Linked lists are patented. That should tell you how broken the software patent system is.

So Google doesn't even use it's own OS?

Android OS is designed for tablets and smartphones. Google hasn't made either of those since the Google phone bombed a few years ago. The image is also a little out of date, the next Kindle will be an Android tablet.

Time will tell whether or not this turns out to be just a political stunt. If the British precedent is anything to go by, it won't change things much.

I thought that was forgotten by most people five years ago.
