TL;DR version Vampires are Liberal caricature because 1. They are sexual deviants 2. They are foreigners 3. They are "socialist" parasites Zombies are Conservatives caricature because 1. They are mindless consumers 2. They are conformists 3. They are uneducated or unthinking Of course, they aren't all that way but it is an interesting concept to discuss.

I remember someone - I think it was John Carpenter - saying that horror can be divided into two types, left-wing and right-wing. Right-wing horror is typified by Dracula, where the danger comes from without; lef-wing horror is typified by Frankenstein, where the danger comes from within.
Just thought I'd bring it up...

Kind of hard for me to argue against this when I am a Liberal who plays a game called Vampire the Requiem. Though the vampire meme hasn't only been used against Liberals. That Obama cartoon on the first page is a rip off of another drawing showing Bush as a vampire from the village voice.   See? They even copied the Statue of Liberty exactly the same. Though I wonder if it says something that they gave Obama much bigger fangs. |

I've seen the whole "vampire meme" being used on liberals,before.I used to go on this one classic film messageboard, and this fundie bitch started her normal "liberals are evil/taxes are evil bs" rant in response to a post about "blood suckers"..and the topic was favorite classic horror monster.

Real vampires are members of the subfamily Desmodontinae and are not noted for their sparkling.
