And lays the smackdown on the GOP."Has anybody been watching the debates lately?" the president said at the home of John Thompson, chairman of Symantec.
In a reference to the GOP front-runner, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Obama said: "You've got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change. It's true."
"You've got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don’t have healthcare and booing a service member in Iraq because they're gay.
"That's not reflective of who we are," Obama said. ...could he just, like, keep doing stuff like that for another, oh, I don't know, four years and a bit?

I'm glad he's actually doing this. granted, it's so he gets re-elected, but hey. he finally grew a pair. good for him.

That's great he can say stuff like that.
Now lets see if he can actually get something passed without pandering to the idiots.

The big test will be to see how long he keeps it.

It is one thing to say stuff like this, it is another entirely to actually act on it. To date Obama has proven he can say things people like, but caves to pressure from the Republicans time and again.

Wow... a discussion with the chairman of symantec! Well that's sure going to appeal to the masses.

Wow... a discussion with the chairman of symantec! Well that's sure going to appeal to the masses. It should. Soon, to prevent future computer hacking, everyone will get a copy of Norton.

Well if he gets re-elected, a lame duck president doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected so he could have four years of doing his job and not worrying what everyone thinks.

I think you're all just racist against invertebrates.
And the sudden crash of every computer in America will bring the nation together as one.

That's great he can say stuff like that. Now lets see if he can actually get something passed without pandering to the idiots. This is my exact question. I love that he is saying it. Will he act on it?

The true test is whether he'll act on it...and from his record I wouldn't hold my breath...

for all the Hippy Punching Democrats like to do, it's funny how progressive they get right around election time.

I don't know if I'd call those comments progressive, so much as "not being a dick".
