Huh. I came into this thread fully ready for the title to be an exaggeration. "How dare they arrest this woman and make her give birth while under police custody in the hospital" kind of thing, from the kind of website/blog that favors ignorring the current laws completely and just ignoring illegal immigrants. But no. They did actually handcuff a woman who was in labor to a bed. Because that's such a fucking escape risk. God damn it, a little compassion is OK to show people whose motive was securing a better life. Silly man. This is Arizona. The state motto is "YEHAAWW LETS KILL SUM BOWN PPLZZ!!1!"

Come on, guys. Everyone knows all Mexican woman do all day is pop out babies. They do it all the time. Driving, putting on makeup, making tacos, doesn't matter. Kid just pops out and they throw it in the baby pile. So of course this woman was an escape risk if not chained down.
And wow, trying to think like a racist hurts my head...

Sylvana, she had no history of violence, was not behaving violently, and was IN THE PROCESS OF GIVING BIRTH. A woman during or just after labor is NOT capable of doing much of anything, much less attacking people.

All in favor of returning Arizona and Texas (and maybe Utah as well) to Mexico, say aye.

Aye, provided we evac the good ones first. I don't want their politicians fleeing north.

That would be fun. And we deny Arpaio's visa, so he gets stuck in Mexico.

Do what you will with Texas and Arizona, but I don't want Utah returned until I am able to move somewhere better.
