Ok, I want to start by saying I just got back from doing a comedy night where I was making jokes on cannibalism and rather nauseous stuff. Please don't click on this video if you don't want to be upset, it's utterly SICK. Don't do it at work either. If you don't, just read the following text. This is witch-burning in Kenya. The victims were said to be carrying "charms". I'd only ever seen witch burnings in charcoal drawings of the inquisition before. Here's the real thing. This is the kind of tape that Amnesty International umm and arr about releasing in case they lose more fans than they gain. To those prepared to see something brutal, PLEASE give to this charity. It's the full force of what they are on about. www.inewsit.com/video/gallery/Five-people-suspected-to-be-witchcrafts-were-bruterly-murded-in-kisii-Nyamataro-Village

See, this is the same shit I brought up in the thread about South African women being raped as a "cure" for lesbianism. Superstitious bullshit kills.

Only by dragging things like this kicking and screaming into the light can any change be brought about. More people need to know about this.

The video was heartwrenching and sick beyond comprehension. I know horrible things like this happen all over the world, but I can never understand how people can be so evil to their fellow human beings. This is the kind of tape that Amnesty International umm and arr about releasing in case they lose more fans than they gain. I don't understand this. Why would Amnesty lose support by providing evidence of such injustice? I cannot find any mention of witch burnings on the Amnesty International website, could you please provide a link or something?

Oh Lord and Lady...
That's just. Fuck. I might choose to believe in higher powers, but I would welcome a world run by atheists if it meant that things like this were wiped out.

You know what is just as sick........my initial gut reaction to the video which was "we should just wipe them all out, the guilty will be gone, and the Innocent will not have to suffer". Fucked up right? Educating people is the only way things like this will be diminished.

I can't even click the link, having read the responses here. I'm at work, so can't click it. But I'm not sure I want to, either. It's one thing to read about torutre and exection methods (something I admit I find facinating), but another to actually see it.
