Haha, I like how they can't name Redtube.

On top of the regular reasons of not wanting to advertise the porn, there's this from the Herald Sun article:
So...if I linked to redtube, I'd be buggered. I haven't linked to redtube and I only visited it once, though.
4chan's probably on the list (I can't access wikileaks to check) and the thought crossed my mind that FSTDT might be (or might make its way onto it).

I can't find a link to the list on /b/, which surprised me. www.itnews.com.au/News/99138,webshield-casts-doubt-over-acma-blacklist-leak.aspx Doubt cast over the authenticity of the leaked list.

That's probably it. I'd imagine that they're getting a lot of hits from Australia right about now - I might try again when it's the middle of the night over there.

I'm an Aussie, and I can't get on wikileaks' home page via google, wikipedia or any other link, nor can I get on any other page, including the list of banned webites. Nor can my brother's computer.
Interestingly, it says not that the adress is incorrect, like normal, the computer states that the 'Connection Interupted while attempting to Negotiate a connection' and that the 'document contains no Data'. Is this normal?
What really annoys me is that this list was put up three days ago, and I didn't hear about it from the various newpapers, TV programs or radio prgrams I watch. One would think that Australians would want to know this.
No major newspaper that I've looked at has it as a story. Exept the ABC (I love the ABC).

I've seen it on the websites of all major Australian newspapers that I looked at. But I did notice that it wasn't mentioned on television. The error messages I'm getting point to it are normal. And the problem is from computers all around the world. There's no reason for paranoia just yet. I didn't know it was leaked that long ago.

It sounds like there's some doubt that this is the list. It might be the official list plus some other sites added by whatever ISP or filter company it was leaked from.
I'm inclined to think it's not the real list, but then again it could be. Of course that just underscores how absurd it is to have a secret blacklist in the first place.
Incidentally, I have seen the list. Not all of 4chan is blocked, but /b/ is. So is 7chan's cake picture forum for some odd reason.
I have to say though, if you find the list online somewhere, please be careful. Although censorship is always wrong in my opinion, some of the sites are on there for a reason.

It's not been on SBS when I watched it 5 minutes ago, it wasn't on the SMH, Australian or the Age websites. I don't consider the other papers major. Only the ABC has mentioned it so far, as far as I can see. The error messages I'm getting point to it are normal. And the problem is from computers all around the world. There's no reason for paranoia just yet. Oh. Now I have to put the tin-foil hats away again. Damn.

Yes, I posted links to two articles focusing on doubts of the truth to it and IIRC, at least one of the others mentioned doubts. The last one I posted was the Minister in charge of the Internet censorship saying it wasn't real. Of course I won't try to access sites that are on the list for a reason. Wikipedia articles on satanic dentists, though? Bring it on.

Well yeah, but you can't tell just by looking at the URL, and it's temping to find out. Like "gifts-for-preteens", that sounds like something harmless that got blocked just for having the word preteen in it but there's no way to be sure without going there.
