Even though I think if his economic doctrines were instituted it would end in disaster, I like Rep. Paul. He's a Republican who truly opposes the military industrial complex and supports personal liberty. One of the few GOPers who isn't a complete hypocrite.
I completely agree with what he said in this video. It's a vicious cycle where we create more terrorists by killing the existing ones (not to forget the civilians.) Of course, Ben Stein pulls the anti-Semite card. I am far from surprised. Non-interventionists? Hate Jews. 'Evolutionists?' Hate Jews.

Creating more terrorists is what keeps the military industrial complex going. Since there are a lot of politicians with interests in the corporations that are part of the military industrial complex, the whole cycle won't be ending anytime soon, sadly.
As for Ben Stein, well, I used to like him, until he showed his true colors as a staunch creationist, as well as his being so quick to pull the anti-semite card the moment anybody ever criticizes him.

Well I disagree with him on a few select issues: -His economic policies. -His stance on abortion. -The fact that he doesn't believe in evolution.

What about policy on environmentalism and genocide intervention? www.darfurscores.org/ron-paulI actually didn't know his environmental policies, but I assumed they were poor because he's...well, a libertarian connected intimately with the Cato Institute which isn't really known for it's excellent environmental stance--especially in the category of climate change. I left his stance on intervention out because I was mainly thinking of Iraq and Afghanistan, but I do favor action to stop crimes against humanity as they're occurring.

Something that size could knock planets out of their orbits. Ben Stein used to work for an anti-semite. A raving anti-semite, who only avoided lengthy jail time by scamming the system. His name was Richard Nixon. I wonder whether Ben speaks well of Nixon, or whether he is only interested in people he can smear as anti-semites, rather than those who actually are.

Then again, so does Kissinger. Who the hell knows why?

From what Stein has said, he seems to admire Nixon quite a bit. Just goes to show how much bullshit his frequent Jewish defense is. "Many Jews in the Communist conspiracy. ... Chambers and Hiss were the only non-Jews. ... Many thought that Hiss was. He could have been a half. ... Every other one was a Jew ā and it raised hell for us. But in this case, I hope to God he's not a Jew." "The Jews are irreligious, atheistic, immoral bunch of bastards. " "But by God, they're exceptions. But Bob, generally speaking, you can't trust the bastards. They turn on us. " -Nixon on Jews. "Nixon's comments about Jews were sort of ā there was a huge disparity between the comments he made about Jews and the large number of Jews he had in his administration. And it is hard to believe in one sense. I don't really think Nixon was anti-Semitic. He had sort of standard phrases. " -What Kissinger had to say. "Tapes of Nixon's resignation show Stein crying, and he insists that he was asked to quit the Ford Administration after a few weeks because his loud weeping was distracting the staff." - An excerpt from a Time article

Wow, Ron Paul is saying what every non-Westerner is thinking!
I still don't like him though. Still too loony.

That's dangerously close to ascribing humanity and logical, understandable reasons to the perpetrators of capital-t Terrorism. If we do that, people might start to consider them as more than merely an amorphous horde of "Muslims" pissed off for no fucking reason and wanting to "kill us because they hate our freedom". Next thing you know, folks will be forming logical conclusions about the roots and nature of terrorism and, heaven help us, perhaps developing a more mature and holistic view of the situation, one in which time does not begin in September 2001.
Ron Paul. Apparently, the man who knew too much.
