The Catholic league I actually find irritating. Mostly because of the blatant hypocrisy. They don't accept American Atheist's explanation, yet they fire back the same kind of "it's against militant atheism, not all atheists" rhetoric.
I also haven't forgiven them for getting an episode of South Park all but banned from the air.
I do find it kind of funny that they're retorting against "celebrate reason" with a caucasian Jesus, though.

I have seen fundies put up far worse than that. That is not and has never been a valid excuse.

I have seen fundies put up far worse than that. That is not and has never been a valid excuse. And yet they are free to say it anyway. If we're going to apply Freedom of Speech, it has to be applied to everyone equally, not just the ones we agree with. I don't agree with what is on the billboard anymore than anyone else here, but they are free to do so, for good or for ill. Quite frankly, my billboard would have Jesus on a beer bottle, and the words "Please worship responsibly" on it. I am just trying to figure out why everyone else here is raising a huge stink over it.

No one is saying that person CAN'T have the billboard, just that it was a poor move.

Do you people actually look at billboards? I just sort of tune them out like I do commercials and newspaper ads. I don't see what is so offensive about it. It is actually pretty "meh" if you ask me. I don't know any Christians who have thin enough skin to be offended by any billboard no matter its message, let alone one so utterly meh. Maybe I am just too used to the profession trolls of the internet.

"I think it's an insult to Christians!"/"If even 1 atheist comes to God, it's worth it."
And that right there is why I don't really give a fuck if the Fundies get butthurt. They just want to monopolize the communication of ideas

Ya know, if a single tree worded message on a bus makes you question your faith...doesn't that mean your faith's kinda...not really all that strong to start with? I really did love the first woman "I think it's an insult to christianity"...orly...compared to signs saying Obama is a muslim/antichrist, that people will kill you if god doesn't exist, gays are child molesters, and atheists are immoral...really. You think "Good without God" is an insult compared to actual insults and slander? You know what, FUCK YOU!

I mean they hired a truck tot stalk the bus ads. That seems pretty insecure to me. I'm sure Jesus would approve of them using money and time to do this instead of feeding and clothing the poor and destitute.
