I'd like more average people in leadership, if only because they'd be more likely to stop the tax cuts on the obscenely wealthy. Maybe even increase them, and if we're really, really lucky, giving them 1/3 the tax rate they had in the 1950s. I'm not sure the outcome you expect will line up with the average joe as leader.

Women have no place in the military. Neither do men. War is unethical and should be done away with. War is not like a natural disaster, it isn't an act of God. It is something we do to each other and we can stop it if we want. War will end the day we decide we no longer want to participate in it.

Unfortunately, war will only stop when everyone everywhere stops wanting to fight over resources. Which will be never.

Joe, are you at all familiar with the expression "Tempting fate"? This isn't tempting fate, this is understanding how warfare has changed from new technologies and weapons. Oriet, that's what people were saying in the late 19th century. There was a belief amogst a new generation of officers that warfare had moved away from the idea of static warfare to one where the battle was taken in any setting, as was seen in the last Boer War. Then World War one came along.

I say we should just have fights where 10 year olds commanding genetically modified animals do battle with one another. Or have the fate of nations in the hands of 14 year olds who play card games.
Ironbite-or just have giant remote controlled robots do the battling.

Ironbite-or just have giant remote controlled robots do the battling. Perhaps even combine all three. Giant remote controlled robots who play card games to control genetically modified animals.

Joe, are you at all familiar with the expression "Tempting fate"? This isn't tempting fate, this is understanding how warfare has changed from new technologies and weapons. I believe the 'temptation' was to believe that war has turned from the kind of blood-bath total war of the 10's and 40's to the nicer, gentler, less bloody (for us) war of Iraq and Afghanistan. Particularly Afghanistan. I'd like more average people in leadership, if only because they'd be more likely to stop the tax cuts on the obscenely wealthy. Maybe even increase them, and if we're really, really lucky, giving them 1/3 the tax rate they had in the 1950s. Well, who did that last? The rich guy professor Franklin Rooseveldt, the academic and general Eisenhower, the profession politician Truman... not exactly men of the people. Not exactly working class. The word you are looking for is 'liberal'.
