The original United States of America was a confederacy and that set up the environment for the south to use the state's rights argument. If the US started as a federalist government, then there wouldn't even be such a discussion, it would be as meaningless as "county rights" or "city rights." One of many compromises that made our nation "great." Speaking of compromises, how's this? They get Texas, Florida, and Alabama.

Astonishingly, they had those things. They wanted them. And we made them give them back.

Wow! They spent hundreds of dollars! They must be serious! How much military power does hundreds of dollars buy you? An armored Cadillac Eldorado?

Wow! They spent hundreds of dollars! They must be serious! How much military power does hundreds of dollars buy you? An armored Cadillac Eldorado? Buys a lot of beer for Jim Bob and his friends/drinking buddies. They'll show up with their own pick ups and guns, have no fear about that. But it the hundreds of dollars will provide incentive to show up with numbers and firepower enough to take and occupy France.
