I very highly suspect that, like Michael Jackson, the people who surrounded her ignored and even enabled her substance-abuse and mental-health problems for their own benefit. That boyfriend/fiance she had a few years ago got her back on the gear after she'd straightened herself out. I don't remember his name, he was just another B-list musician I think.

The end of what could have been a promising singing career. I wasn't really a fan either but her voice had this nice bluesy feel to it.

I agree.
However, I see no reason to believe she deserved to die, so I'm sad to hear it.

Her husband, I believe. No idea if she was still with him when she died, but I do know that he was in prison for a while.

If this isn't a prank of some kind, RIP. I liked her music well enough but wasn't a fan of her personal decisions.

Not a prank. They've been showing stuff about it on the TV news all day.

Is any one else the least bothered about the fact that the accidental (?) death of one, admitedly talented, but otherwise fairly mediocre musician of limited appeal seems to have knocked news of 90-odd murdered but otherwise unknown terrorism victims off the front page of most news services?

Sorry for her family, but shocked I ain't. As celebrity deaths go, still more upset about Knut. Steve Irwin on my part. I should have said celebrity deaths this year. But yeah, I think in terms of personal lasting contributions, Irwin is a significantly greater loss.

I dunno, I've still be seeing the Norway stuff as the leading story on most of the news stations here.

Looks like it is time to hit up F&B again...

Not a prank. They've been showing stuff about it on the TV news all day. Well, in this day and age and knowing Amy I didn't know... Very sad. Her music wasn't terrible and I was hoping to see her get cleaned up again.
