...Wow. I mentioned AA's name (after having to ask about it, no less, since I had forgotten) and here he comes. That's hilarious.
Also, don't feed the troll, people. There's a reason his avatar says "Ignore Me" ;D
Also, Skyfire.
And... nautical99.

No it wouldn't. It would work the same way fingerprints are handled today. When there is a need to check them, they are send to the database (it's housed in central WV) and compared. Ok first there is a lot more then information then fingerprints being taken here. Yes and no. Yes, your picture covers more of you than your fingerprints. But the picture would not be used except like fingerprints are used. Got a print at a crime scene? Run it though the fingerprint database. Got a picture from a crime scene? Run it through facial recognition software. Since we don't know how the software works, there is no way to know. Please explain to me why random CCTV pics would be sent to the database. If that is your fear, do you wear gloves every time you touch something, in case the government comes behind you and picks up whatever you touched? Besides, who said you have to do something wrong to be fingerprinted? My prints went in the database twice - once when I joined the Navy and once when I went to work for the Federal government. Are you concerned about your friends and neighbors getting your fingerprint data? (It's linked to your name in the database, so getting one would get the other.) That isn't what I meant. You mentioned TSA people who recorded people going through airport security as proof that facial recognition software is bad. I pointed out that people who have access to CCTV can already record people and release the recordings; them doing it has nothing to do with facial recognition software. Nor does facial recognition software. But anyway...

He's like Beetlegeuse, Bloody Mary, Satan, or Biggy Smalls.
I'm gonna burrow so far up his ass that I'll harp on his kidney.

I want to know more about his argument.
Then I will calmly & rationally shove a pike up his ass. Metaphorically.

How did things go from "hey, we're gonna start using better facial recognition software" to "ZOMG THEY'RE GONNA WATCH ME TAKE A SHIT ON A CAT BUT I WANTED TO SHIT ON A DOG AND THE EVIL COPS REPLACED IT WITH A CAT"?

I will laugh when you find yourself on the wrong side of an officious police officer misusing his powers.
