I don't know whether to be amused, horrified, or both. Well I am horrified. I don't see anything amusing about a terrorist organization brainwashing and arming children. They are literally trying to buy the support of the poverty stricken residents in their area by handing out money and guns, and justifying it with religion. It's fucking disgusting. You'd think with that kind of money al-Shabab would be doing more (or anything at all) to stop the HUGE FUCKING FAMINE that is occuring in Somalia and surrounding countries right now. ETA: (Or maybe this is a desperation tactic to try and recruit more members to replace those who have died from starvation or who blame the group for the famine? Who knows? Either way it is disgusting and pathetic.) |

Is it wrong that my first reaction is, "I can totally see Christian fundies doing this"? At first I thought the title was going to be about a school whose kids were so fundy-fied they'd failed everything. Then I scrolled over and saw it was about Islam, and thought soldiers "left no child behind" in some kind of My Lai Massacure twisted bullshit. But this...this...um.. wow.. I was not quite prepared for this. |

You gotta give the guy credit. Your average fundy Christian hasn't even touched the bible, while these kids are being encouraged to read the Koran. They wouldn't bother using the free hand for education when it could be used to steady the gun.
