Debating in my own mind: Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus in The Matrix. (and sequels) This might help your decision. A while back I was reading some of the original script. In the scene where Neo and Cypher are talking and Cypher makes it clear he doesn't really think Neo is the one, there was a lot more to it than what was in the movie. Cypher told Neo that he was not the first "one" that Morpheus had found. There were 5 others. And all of them died because they believed Morpheus.

He didn't have any clear evidence for his beliefs but still believed so very strongly that he would take tremendous risks to act in accordance with them. That he happened to be right about Neo doesn't change that fact.

Most of the people in "The Crucible". Salem witch trials anyone? Except for John Proctor and the guy that gets pressed to death. And the witch hunter who realizes that he's wrong at the end is kinda on the fence.

It would have ruined the character of Morpheus for subsequent scenes, even if Cypher was lying. Thanks for the info.

The parents on that one kiss movie, I don't remember the name (haven't seen it in years).
There is also Father Anderson from Hellsing, but then again, several characters in Hellsing are a bit fundie like.

The teacher from Donnie Darko and the pedo guy played by Patrick Swayze.
Not sure if they are fundie, haven't watched the film in a while, but I remember when Donnie questions the teacher's polarity and that stuck out to me.

EVERYONE except Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. Everyone except Atticus Finch, and his children, and all the townspeople who supported him, and most of the black community...

He gets +9001 awesome points just for not saying anything to save his family and such.
