...that being SAW.
Truth be told, I think it's time to get over this stupid phobia. I'm not going to put off watching it. I'm just going to dive right in to it. I'll pause it and take a break if I have to, but... I'm going to watch this movie today.
Why am I telling you this? I dunno. Blabbering helps me focus.
Here I go...

Don't worry, the movie isn't that good. Just stick it out, and you WILL overcome your fear of bad movies, especially those starring 80's actors who haven't really done much of note since

I can see forcing oneself to watch a movie or read a book that is outside of one's tastes, but that supposedly has some sort of artistic merit. But Saw hardly fits that criterion. What, after all, can you expect to get out of it that would be at all worthwhile? While I hope that the experience isn't as painful for you as it is for the movie's victims, I seriously suspect that your effort is woefully misplaced.

Hey, good luck with that. Let me know how it goes.
I'm doing a similar thing with audio recording fearful situations and listening to them over and over, so far it's working.

Well, I just finished watching it.
My prognosis...
......
It was boring. The fan-scenarios are far worse than anything in the movie itself. And there were so many flashbacks that I couldn't tell whether I was in the present or the past or a far distant future.
Granted, I had some of it spoiled for me already, but overall, the movie was... meh.
Phobia has been cured.

Actually, there was one thing about the movie in particular that pissed me off.
And that is an inconsistency in the character of Jigsaw.
And this is shown through the first trap, which doesn't even take effect until the last minute of the movie.
*SPOILERS*
Basically, this guy wakes up underwater in a bath tub, and in an understandable blind panic, accidentally unplugs the drain, where a shining object (later revealed by one of the millions of flashbacks to be the key to his chains) falls down the drain.
Here's what pisses me off. The guy's crime was minor (he photographed people). He hadn't even had a chance to hear the rules. He was placed in a situation where any single person WOULD panic.
This game was impossible to win. Jigsaw, who was there witnessing the whole thing while disguised as a corpse, then nonchalantly tells him that it's in the bathtub. Which makes him horrified as he realizes that within the first 5 seconds of consciousness he lost a game that he didn't even know the rules to.
This is not Jigsaw's M.O.
Really, the only reason they put this in the movie was because the authors felt like they NEEDED to have someone that the audience had grown attached to to die a horrific death. It makes NO sense regarding Jigsaw's character.
Character inconsistencies are understandable between movies, but in the same damn movie?! Unacceptable!
....That was really the only problem I had with the movie, aside from the 10% horror, 90% flashback aspect of it.

So you can forgive the gore for the sake of gore, but not a glaring instance of shitty plot?

So you can forgive the gore for the sake of gore, but not a glaring instance of shitty plot? Huh? Actually, the gore was seriously downplayed in my opinion. When a character got the top of his head blown off, you only got to see it for like 1 second.

I used to be terrified by The Little Rascals, but over the years I became somewhat accustomed to them.
