So tell me, do demons attack rhesus monkeys? Or do rhesus monkeys get DID? Because monkeys with low serotonin levels in their brains behave like depressed humans, and the same SSRIs that work on many depressed humans work on monkeys that display the same symptoms. Really? That is awesome (er, not that depressed monkeys are awesome, because the thought of sad little monkeys makes me kind of sad, but it is a nifty little thing to learn) Yep. I actually was unaware of this until fairly recently when a psychologist friend let me know. We were discussing the efficacy of drugs and how science knows (and how much it knows) about the neurochemical causes of (some) depression. I would adopt a sad little monkey as a pet, and we could take our pills together and be normal monkeys together. :-D Also we could wear matching hats. It would be grand.

m52 nickerson the only reason this has gotten such anger out of the folks here is it is a statement that will have everyone thinking of themselves and the things they go through and don't even admit in this thread. There are more than what is spoken here. Those who are holding back are only hurting themselves. as they sit on there high horse crying foul. No. The only reason people have gotten angry is because your claims are utter bull shit. You can't back them up with proof. That is been shown by the fact you have not yet produced any. You tell people that medical issues that we know for fact can't be completely cured can. You lie and it hurts people. If evil really exists it is in stupidity. You sir are stupid.

how long does it take to recover? To me saying that you will be in a process of recovery for your whole life is a long time. Wouldn't want want to just be done and over with it and get ridf of the besetting sin once and for all?

revoked business license? No just because i didn't renew the article of incorporation doesn't mean revoked. We are no longer incorporated. That's it. There is no longer a partner but me and only me that owns the company.

You are in essence giving people medical advice and diagnosing people with out one. That is illegal.

deadpandoubter how long does it take to recover? To me saying that you will be in a process of recovery for your whole life is a long time. Wouldn't want want to just be done and over with it and get ridf of the besetting sin once and for all? Are you saying to be depressed is a sin, or your actions when depressed are sin? Because either way, you sound like a fucking dick. And as far as it being a lifelong thing, I don't make the rules. I'd love to snap my fingers and presto change-o, nobody's depressed or dealing with MPD/schizophrenia/so on and so forth, but that's NOT HOW THE MIND AND BODY WORK. I'm no neurologist nor am I a psychiatrist, but I have a worldview that is fucked up because of whatever the fuck my mental problems are. I can't claim that this warped view comes from depression as I've never been diagnosed, but I'm definitely neurotic in the colloquial sense and deal with perpetual "downs" that never seem to get that "up". I can't imagine completely losing this mindset, even if I get whatever therapy or medicine that I need, because I grew up with this problem. I'm still growing up with this problem, and even if I DIDN'T grow up with it...well... Imagine that you're, heck, 25 or something. Imagine that slowly, ever so slowly, you begin to see things as hopeless. Your life, your job, your friendships, your hobbies, your loves, everything loses meaning for no apparent reason. Eventually, you get used to it, you start believing that it's normal to be this way, and that anyone who says otherwise ("Cheer up, the sun comes up tomorrow!") is trying to lie to you so they don't have to deal with your true feelings. You feel bad for thinking so, but hey, if your experience is normal, why ELSE would they be saying such things? You want me to believe that such a mindset, even when corrected, will someday disappear into the ether, that it will never affect you anymore? If so, you're more deluded than I thought. DISCLAIMER: The above situation is IN NO WAY intended to represent what a TYPICAL depressed person goes through. It's merely MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, only I wasn't 25 when it started. I was 12 when whatever-my-problem-is-started, and being raised in a strongly Protestant household, surrounded by Bibles and self-help books written by "good, godly believers".

I lot of people would like instant cures. To bad is does not work that way. I'd fucking love an instant cure. It's just that I know things don't work that way, and I'm not ready totoss reality to the wayside for wishful thinking.
