I can't speak for what was behind his actions, all I remember is his making my mom cry and what she told me when I was older. Pretty much, though, I think that we were too "poor" and "low class" for their little country church, just going by how his daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids acted.

This the Deliverance Ministries forum? You're boss here? I'm sure she'll respond to you properly even if I "interject" so I don't see what you have to be so upset about.
Furthermore, I do not care under whose authority you claim to be under, troll. Plenty of idiots just like yourself claim the same authority, and I fail to see how you are so much more special than they are. In fact, if you were so brimming with the holy spirit as you're claiming, I'm sure I could spot you from my house!

Wow. Calling down Jesus to shut people up, Christian love for you. And he can't even do that right.

hah, I've been gone for a while...seems like I've missed a bit of stuff? You missed, like, a hoot-and-a-half of batshit insane fun. The current discussion would probably be more entertaining if I didn't have the strong urge to drag DeadpanDoubter far away from Nautical and tell him to stop trying to fill her head with crap. It's like watching someone actually try to brainwash another human being (because, well, that's exactly what this is) And to know he does this to people much more vulnerable than those of us here is kind of stomach churning.

Hah, I tried my best to read the last few pages and it all made my head hurt ; Holy hell. I do feel sorry for people that get swindled by fundy-ism because it makes them feel more comfortable. I feel even worse for the people that think they are doing good things by swindling those people. I only really get offended though when it's kids. Don;t brainwash the kids.

Jay-dubs don't believe in the Trinity? Not unless I missed or forgot something, which is unlikely because my dad blabbers on about it whenever something slightly religious is discussed on TV. I think its one of the reasons I actually kinda like em...their beliefs make more sense than most of the shit the other guys spew out.

deadpan ok lets start over do you or do you not have abandonment issues? Where do you think they started? What do you think can be done about them? I don't, they didn't, and that's not an issue. Would you care to try for attempt number 3 or so? Lone: JWs are weird. O-o Every time I look up some claim about crazy stuff that they believe, I keep finding that it's true. Really, when I step back, no religion looks much weirder than the others (though some seem LESS weird than the average). Even scientology. It's weird as all get-out, but it's no weirder than fundamental Christianity. The specific craziness of believing sadness is caused by alien souls thrown into a volcano isn't really weirder inherently than the belief that the creator of spacetime iteslf sacrificing himself to himself so that he could forgive humanity, even though he made all the rules to begin with. My boyfriend (the one with 13 Satanic fathers) was raised JW, but most of his stories of crazy things they believe are pretty similar to what I was raised with as a Southern Baptist. But the finer points of theology, into which category Christology in general and *itarianism falls is pretty far outside the range of what kids get beaten into their heads as indoctrination, so that's not too surprising.
