Yahoo! Answers messages. Bear in mind that I do not attempt to hide my Wiccan-ness on Y!A. I don't shout it from the rooftops, but anyone who reads through a handful of my answers will generally come across a mention that I am Pagan. From: Fundie Message: I have seen your answers from time to time in the Religion and Spirituality section. They are always well balanced. May I ask, do you go to church? My response was along the lines of, "Yes, I go to church. My parents are Christian." Fundie's reply: Message: Hello again,
Awesome. So your parents are also Christian.
lol that's a very true statement. Would you ever be interested in joining a forum and sharing discussions with other Christians? No wiccans or dissenters are allowed.
Hm. Here's the link. I'm there. My name is Like a Stone over there. My brother made the forum. He is Emmaus. We have a very select group of honest Christians there, and no-one else. It is for the strength and good of other believers. That's why we exist.

Let me know if you are interested, please. If not, then amen. I LOL'd.

That's hilarious, he didn't even ask if you were a Christian, just assumed it. Half reminds me of an opinion column in a local paper a while back where the author assumed her mail carrier was a Christian because he stopped to help her.
Cause you know, non-christians are horrible wretched people.

I'm amused by how he says "No wiccans or dissenters are allowed." He's openly saying that they cloister themselves away from all opposing viewpoints, yet he clearly finds nothing wrong with that.

Cause you know, non-christians are horrible wretched people. We really are. I had a recently homeless elderly diabetic woman on my porch a few nights ago after she'd been out in the cold for four hours, not knowing what to do and my house was the only one with a light on, I ended up giving her and her brother a ride across town to get to a relative who could put them up for the night. She kept mentioning being a good Christian woman, to try and assure me she wasn't dangerous (she wasn't.), and I just didn't have the heart to tell her that a) I wasn't a christian and b) that didn't really mean anything to me.

I find it funny that you said, "Yes, I go to church. My parents are Christian." which is pretty much telling him you aren't, and he STILL assumed you were.

You should inform him you're a Christian Jew.

If I were you, I'd tell him that I was a Wiccan & ask him if he felt like a jackass now.

I'd reply, "Oh, it seems there's been a miscommunication. I attend the Church of Satan."

"Well, funny little misunderstanding there. My name is Christian. I'm actually a Jew/pagan/Satanist/Democrat/Scientologist. Can I still come over and hang out?"

You know, I've read through that rules of the forum and at no point is not being Christian declared a ban-worthy offence. Although it is forbidden to post any "teachings from any book other than the Bible" or "teachings from non-Christian cults and/or sects". So Wiccans and dissenters are allowed, there's just an incredibly broad rule against their opinions.
It is possible that I have too much free time in my hands.

Wouldn't that thing about teachings from non-Bibles include any information of any sort whatever derived from a non-Bible source?

At least she had a sense of humor about it. That's something a lot of fundies are completely lacking.
