This thread is for when a band that you otherwise enjoy listening to makes complete asses of themselves, either through selling out (however you happen to define it) or just releasing an inferior product or both.
The first one that comes to mind for me is Three Doors Down making the glurge-ridden ad-song "Citizen Soldier" for the National Guard. Even leaving aside the fact that the original version used 9/11 as a recruiting tool (I know not everyone disagreed with this tactic, but I did), it perpetuates the myth that the National Guard is still the same as in the Vietnam era, where you only have to show up on weekends and aren't likely to see action unless our main forces or the politicians in Washington who decide troop deployment completely screw the pooch. Guess what...Fifi's up to sloppy 50s thanks to those politicians. Joining the National Guard in the current climate carries something like an 80% chance of being sent overseas indefinitely to help deal with Shrub's two screwed-up wars.
Anyone else have some?

The entire latest album by Linkin Park. I'm a big fan of theirs, most of the songs on that album sound like they're crying because someone kicked them in the balls. When he we first listened to it, my fiancee turned to me with a "WTF???" expression.

Led Zeppelin - The Crunge. Seriously, huge Zep fan here, but this the ONE song out of all their material I just cannot make myself enjoy.

Strangely, I have never liked "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin, even though I like their other stuff.
I hate "Halloween in Heaven" off Type O Negative's latest CD, Dead Again. The album itself is kind of a mixed bag (especially when compared to their earlier stuff), but that track is its nadir.

Metallica's St. Anger! Not just the song, but the entire album! I mustered all my goodwill and tried to tune myself in to the album. Those are days I'll never get back.

"Something in Your Mouth", by Nickelback. Actually, almost everything by them post "Photograph".

Truly Madly Deeply and the cover of the atrocious Avril Lavigne song Sk8er Boi by Cascada. Can't stand those songs, but I usually like other stuff by them.

Perfect Situation is probably the best song on the album, but that doesn't really mean much. The song just doesn't hold up to everything else they've put out.

Ah, I like the song equally as much as their older stuff. I haven't heard the song in a while, and you've convinced me to give it another shot. I'll let you know how it goes. Have listened to Red? It doesn't sound much like their older stuff, but I like it lot.
