Wow, my friend Alex just found one on a bench in the academic building. We're all looking at it and making fun of it. It's "This Was Your Life!"
Apparently, most of my friends haven't heard of these things yet. Right now, we're discussing exactly how stupid it is.

Have any of you guys ever stumbled across a Chick tract in real life? I've lived in what I think is a fairly religious conservative area my whole life and have never seen or been handed one. Then again, I went to school in a small town where nearly everyone was Christian, and perhaps nobody thought it was necessary to go around witnessing for Christ. Yes I have. When I was little my Christian mother was given a copy of "Somebody Loves Me". It creeped the fuck out of me. When I was about ten, I came across this bible that I was interested in buying. But there were some chick tracts in the back of it that turned me off buying it.

I used to find them all the time in and around Chicago. On the bus was a favorite. Most people, when seeing something on the seat they want, just sweep it onto the floor or pick it up and pitch it in the trash can. The bookstore by my office had a rash of them for a couple of years. You would often fine them in the music section, by the punk and metal CDs, and in fantasy and sci-fi books (found one in a copy of Small Gods by Terry Pratchett). I also used to find them when I managed a bar. Usually left on the bar. We finally figured out that the person leaving them was the same person who came in by themselves at 5 and drank until 9 or 10 every night. We decided to leave it alone, though, he was a good tipper.
Best ever was when I saw a bunch laid out, in a fan pattern, in one of the big, multi-unit port-a-johns during Kriskindlemarket (German Christmas festival). Someone had...modified them a bit

have you noticed how he made satan out to look a bit like a caricature of a jew? I missed that, but I did notice how she prays like a Muslim.

I look forward to finding my first Chick tract, dousing it in something flammable, igniting it, and using it to light a joint.
Fortunately, or, perhaps not, up here in Bellingham we don't have all that many of the super-obnoxious turn-or-burn types. We have, like, five, total, I think, and nobody really pays attention to them.
Dude, someone needs to make a Satanist tract, along the same pattern as the Chick tracts, showing how Satan frees us from slavery, and encourages us to question and to seek knowledge, and how much better life is when you can be *yourself*, and not have to conform to arbitrary standards.

I had one handed to me in Cologne (yes, in atheist Europe). Even the young me understood that it was BS. And I guess the translation was not that good.

Have any of you guys ever stumbled across a Chick tract in real life? About a year or so ago, one of the churches in my town apparently handed out stamped Chick tracts to their members for the sake of re-distribution. At least one tract was left atop a bin full of disposable razors at the local grocery store, which is where I found it. I've been meaning to do a rebuttal, but simply keep getting deluged with everything else I need to do.

Scared the living fuck out of me for years as I found the idea of being showed every little thing that you did or thought about at your judgment time and that God is watching and recording such actions and thoughts during your life to be scary as fuck, not to mention that it would be the ultimate form of humiliation as your inner thoughts are displayed to all of the afterlife. What kind of God would do that to his child?
