My wife and I just bought a house, and the work to fix it up before we move in has begun. Yesterday, we got a granite counter top put in and today we got the new sink, faucet and garbage disposal hooked up. If anyone is interested, I'll keep posting updates. The counter and sink Me with the new counter The view from our living room P.S. I wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured fixing up a house is a creative endeavor.

I envy that view. I also wish we could afford to fix up our house like that (or... at all, really ) Your kitchen is drool-worthy.

I would do a lot for that kind of view.

Cool - very nice work.
I did some plumbing at our house not too long ago. I'd never done it before, but found it much easier than i was expecting... Fixing stuff around the house is my new "night out". I take the time and energy I used to spend partying and apply it to the home. It's very rewarding.
I do a fair bit of gardening in our yard, but since this is the first spring in the home, it's all a matter of potential at the moment. Everything's in the ground, but it will be next year before seeing the results.

Very neat. I spent a summer flipping a house, so I love seeing/doing all this home improvement stuff. Let me know if you need any wood floors refinished.

We're putting up new fake shutters.....
Oh and our neighbour cut our hedge to half it's height (his side took a lot of damage over the winter). I feel so naked.

We got new tile floors in the kitchen/dining room/entry and both the bathrooms. It was just finished today. The kitchen/dining room Another view, including the entry. The stove is sitting in the living room right now. This is what I was doing for most of time they were finishing it up today.

A couple weeks ago, we got a few quotes on painting the interior of our new house. Today, I called back the painter who's quote we liked best, only to find out that he passed away just yesterday. What's worse, it was the painter's retired father who answered the phone and had to give me the news. Awkward!

We did all our painting ourselves....yeah, there are a couple of mistakes here and there, but the cash we saved was worth it. Just be sure to leave the windows open.
