We still have a working rotary phone original to the house. It's wired into the wall, and for some reason, works when the power is out. That'd be because the phone doesn't use electricty. We had a rotary phone in a house I lived in as a kid. Sucks when you had to deal with touchtone only services. They do use electricity, ~40 volts if I remember correctly. They just get it through the phone line instead of normal house power. The modulation of their power is what makes them ring (though hey have different ringers, hence the different sounds) and transmit/receive voice. Also, does anyone else remember Purplesaurus Rex Kool-Aid?

I remember 3 of those 5 songs, but then I also remember "Waiting For a Star to Fall" and a time when people listened to Rick Astley non-ironically.
I also maintain that the Rugrats (still being aired, IIRC) jumped the shark around season 5 or so.
I didn't watch Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, or either 90210.
Halle Rosenburg looks like someone I'd hang out with.
The Backstreet Boys are a phase I put behind me a decade ago.
I didn't know there was an Internet until 1996. My family didn't get an Internet connection until 1999 (makes dial-up modem noises). We never used AOL.
Admittedly, the floppy and the "Be Kind, Rewind" made me tear up a little. I will probably get a VCR after I move out, actually. I still have a lot of old Disney tapes I want to share with the next generation.
OMG, Purplesaurus Rex!!! And remember those drinks with the faces on the bottle? I loved those when I was a kid, but I can't for the life of me remember the name. Started with an S.
Also, omg Tommy! My brother's favorite color growing up was "whatever color Ranger Tommy is this season." Up until "Power Rangers In Space," when we finally outgrew it.

we had an internet connection in 1996 and Broadband well before 2000. Of course my dad worked in the computing industry so that helped.

And JDF is a damn decent fighter too. And, at conventions, he'll still do the evil Tommy laugh.
Ironbite-you know the one I'm talkin' bout.

I'm told Scary Spice now does workout tapes. I don't know about workout tapes, but I know she is (or was anyway) part of a topless show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. I went to see it about 2 years ago and it is pretty good. It's called PeepShow. Link NSFW. Mel B (Scary Spice) was "Peep Deva" when I saw it. She isn't listed as part of the cast now, so I don't know if she is still in the show.

Can someone please explain why the Pepsi girl looks like a female version of Skeletor with skin? OH LAWDY her forehead, jaw bones that is just not right.
The spice girls are gone and nothing of value was lost. The Backstreet Boys are gone and nothing of value was lost.
With the loss of The Weakest Link there was a gap in British stereotypes. Thus the call was heard, “Who shall perpetuate the stereotype that British are assholes?”
Presumably the Taco Bell Chihuahua Died from intestinal complication after eating a taco.

I still have and regularly use a VCR. Found out--the hard way--that it was more dependable than the DVR...

Maybe this thread could be called NO ONE OF ANY AGE READ THIS...because it makes me feel older than I really am (I'm 27, going to be 28 in Nov.)
On another note, I remember the following: Fraggle Rock, Jem, when the SciFi channel first came on air, and they didn't show shitty made for TV movies, and showed good shit like re-runs of Dark Shadows, MST3K, a decent scifi movies, and how AMC used to show classic film...

I hate admitting this, but I was a huge Spice Girls fan back in the day.
