Right in front of you?
Let's watch and find out what people in a town in Texas did...

You're welcome. I felt we needed some warm fuzzies after the dreadful topics lately. ;D

Save for Mr. 90-yr old high five guy, yeah, it's good to see people stand up like that.
My fiancee probably would've decked the waitress though.

That was awesome. That one guy's note was very touching.

I saw this on Tumblr, I absolutely love it. My dad encountered this irl (and for real) in an Irving once. This guy was making fun of his waiter for looking/acting gay very loudly. My dad went over and said "What the fuck is wrong with you?" The guy was kind of scared but snapped back "I don't know, what the fuck is wrong with me, faggot?"
My dad dumped his coffee in his soup and said "Well, first off, your lunch is ruined" then just walked off like a boss.
Yeah, my dad is kind of like Burt Hummel.

Wasn't this clip a staged experiment from the show What Would You Do? Not that it lessens the impact any.

Wasn't this clip a staged experiment from the show What Would You Do? Not that it lessens the impact any. The gay couple, the children, AND the waitress were all actors. But everyone else was a real patron of the establishment. Yes, it was staged but the results were real. And as was mentioned, the one guy's note was very touching. It made an extra impact since one of the actors was actually gay herself.

This is wonderful.
I don't like these kinds of shows, but it was very interesting.

I wonder if the difference in reactions in Texas versus New York has more to do with the difference between rural and city populations than it does with liberal versus conservative.
Also, the dude with the letter was awesome and may be the best person ever. And unlike what the host was trying to claim, it was real.

I wanna kiss the guy in the ball-cap and Donovan, and everyone else who got up in the waitress's face and told her to shut the fuck up and leave the families alone. *warm fuzzies*
And I think Vene's right about rural vs. city...maybe it's also a type of bystander apathy? More people = less response, because, hey, it's not my problem, surely someone else will say something. I just hope I don't ever give in and look the other way.

Wow, my respect for the people of Texas just went up by a factor of about a million.
Too bad the state overall is still a stinking cesspit of worthlessness.

I agree that the main difference was more rural VS city. I am willing to be that if the same thing was done in a smaller family oriented diner (like it was in Texas) you would get similar reactions.
I think a more interesting study would be to figure out why it is like that.
(lastly, am I the only one that felt my gaydar lighting up just a little with regards to most of the people who stood up for the gay couples?)
