My inner fundie's gibbering about the End Times and the Mark of the Beast now. I think it's neat, though. Hopefully it'll give a more accurate look at what kids are eating... Presumably, at the end times it will indeed be simple to track what kids are eating. My theory would be any or all of the following: ash; tears; flesh of slain.

Considering some of the horror stories I've heard about cafeteria food (recent horror stories, mind) I think that it would be a good idea for schools to actually start focusing on providing healthy food themselves. Not to mention stuff that's more like meals and less like biology experiments.

nobody's holding anybody at gunpoint and forcing them to eat healthy, all they are doing is providing information that people can use to eat healthier if they chose, and collecting information for statistical purposes. You know you're right, but they like to leave this shit out in their stupid rants... gotta love the anti-union rants that they decided to focus on.

I once took a bite of something that actually tasted good, only to realize that it was part of the Styrofoam plate.

Yeah we often joked about how the food at high school was plastic food. It tells you something when the highlight of the food is ranch put on plastic pizza.

my lunch through my school years wasn't really as bad as my friends from other schools told me... I dunno why. Guess I just went to better schools.

My high school's food was fucking awesome! It wasn;t really healthy though. They had poutine, cheeseburgers, 'vinnieburgers' (Burgers covered with BBQ sauce and onions), and daily specials like fettuccini alfredo or lasagna or something.

At my high school, we were allowed out for lunch. The grocery store down the road was a nice source of relatively cheap food.

my lunch through my school years wasn't really as bad as my friends from other schools told me... I dunno why. Guess I just went to better schools. In my experiences, the food at schools isn't as bad as what people complain about it being in the first place. Granted, the food is not as good as a restaurant or a home cooked meal, but it's at least as good as the fast food so many people seem to love. There have got to be some schools with genuinely bad food, but I take accusations of it with a grain of salt.

Vene, consider my sensory issues. Then consider industrial-grade food products. Yeah... a lot of school food was completely inedible.

From what I can remember of my few years in the public school system, the food wasn't that bad...I mean, I've since developed an aversion to Totinos-esque pizzas, but they had DELICIOUS turkey sammiches...mm, I lived for sammich day.
