From what I can remember of my few years in the public school system, the food wasn't that bad...I mean, I've since developed an aversion to Totinos-esque pizzas, but they had DELICIOUS turkey sammiches...mm, I lived for sammich day. My middle school offered great hot ham and cheese sandwiches. I loved those things!

my lunch through my school years wasn't really as bad as my friends from other schools told me... I dunno why. Guess I just went to better schools. In my experiences, the food at schools isn't as bad as what people complain about it being in the first place. Granted, the food is not as good as a restaurant or a home cooked meal, but it's at least as good as the fast food so many people seem to love. There have got to be some schools with genuinely bad food, but I take accusations of it with a grain of salt. Yeah. Probably schools with limited funding but at least the food supposedly has the nutrition you need to get through the day. I know that we actually had pizza from like Dominoes or something. And the burgers weren't all that bad. The pasta stuff was iffy tho.

I didn't meant to imply that ALL schools had bad food. Just that I had heard some more modern horror stories >_> Such as putting two foods together that should not go together in an attempt to get rid of both of them before they spoil.

Vene -- It's an open forum, man. I'm just saying that, for me, quite a bit was (and still is) inedible. YMMV.
