I read that article... That really scares me. "two-thirds of adults and nearly one-third of children are obese or overweight" wow...

Jesus Christ, why does anyone take FOX seriously? Remember, when Beck accused Obama of being racist (or at least said he believed Obama has a deep-seated hatred of white people), viewers agreed. People take Fox seriously because they seem to already believe it. Obama is a racist fuck because I, Joe Sixtooth, am a racist fuck. And deep down, everyone is just like me because...The Kool-Aid Man is red!

Yep, and it's stupidity like this why I have no qualms whatsoever laughing in these people's faces and fitting their stereotype of the arrogant "liberal" (read "someone at least slightly in touch with reality," since there frankly is no "real" left in the US with any semblance of power, and I'm a rather moderate center-left on a normal scale, i.e. one not skewed rightward like the American one that apparently considers me a "radical socialist" for supporting crazy ideas like "human dignity before profit").

I'm not even sure where I rank on the American political scale. I'm pretty far into lefty territory, with only a few ideals that are particularly "conservative" in that sense. But seeing as Obama is considered some far left extremist, I've got to be...What's further than a far left extremist? A Martian? I'm I some sort of Space-Socialist? One of the things that really does piss me off in this country is that everyone brays about the liberal media. Well, everyone in the non-literal, figurative sense before the grammar nazis step in and whine. Liberal media like MSNBC, who will run with Fox News claims without researching them. Sure, there was Olbermann, but while he frothed, he wasn't particularly extremist in the sense of left or right. He was just extreme in the way he reacted to things. "The piece of pastrami I had for lunch today...Our WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD!" There were just more things that pissed him off that were right than left. Kind of like the Daily Show "picking" on the Republicans. You just give us so much fuel, Republicans. Be it your racist sub-parties who threaten violence armed with guns and then complain of persecution or your great hope being a woman who couldn't even finish her one term as governor. MSNBC, who had previously hired Beck, Tucker Calrson, etc. Not straw-conservatives in the sense that Colmes was a straw-liberal. Just in the sense that I always hoped to fuck real conservatives in this country didn't believe them. And MSNBC is the "far left" example. CNN and other news outlets were far slower to correct the stories about ACORN and the like, which they jumped all over without lookingat first. That doesn't sound very liberal to me. We don't have another side to the story: The new doesn't readily present ideas of a liberal nature. If there really was a liberal bias, we might see some of those ideas creep in. The media's reticent to say things like crazy people shouldn't have guns gays might not be an abomination, and a military-heavy policy might not be the next best thing to jebus. We cannot have nuanced discussions in this country. We're a "with us or against us" nation, and that's the only sense in which CNN can really be counted as liberal: It doesn't completely run with Fox.

Vote Space-Socialist in 2012! Together, we can be bombarded by lethal alpha radiation... equally!
No but seriously I'm probably a Social Democrat by European standards, which does make me a Space-Socialist by American standards.

Calling Obama a socialist* is like... calling Otto von Bismarck a member of anti-German conspiracy. I guess some people call it "fractally wrong". As an European, sometimes I find US politics very weird. * No self-respecting socialist would consider cutting safety nets and health care for the poor just to spare the richest from paying a bit more taxes. It's not only not politically wise (at least in Europe - practically political suicide), but it would be a complete surrender of the ideals. Obama is just another plutocratic conservative (but at least not as far right as most current Republicans).
