I want the culprits to be Muslim, just to watch you all backpedal or start screaming about Republican fear-mongering. The latter has already begun. I don't want them to be muslims. Norway is my home, and if this turns out to be a jihadistic attack after all, there are bad outlooks for the country. It will mean fences, barricades and visibly armed guards around our politicians, stricter security at the borders, and that the common Norwegian develops more suspicion, fear and hatred towards muslims or people who look like they may be muslims. Norway is an open society, and I want to keep it that way. |

It's looking like it was right-wing extremists, not Muslim fundamentalists. The police has arrested one man, they are interrogating him now. They haven't told the public anything about his political connections or possible motivation. He may still turn out to be a single lunatic. That certainly doesn't exclude right-wing extremism.We know one thing: He's a native Norwegian. |

Or he could be schizophrenic or something of the like. I used to work at a hospital, and we always had problems with folks off their meds kinda freaking out after major events: columbine, 9/11, the bank of america shoot-out etc. He coulda been some sort of right winger who saw the attack and blamed the left-wing gov't and wanted to get some revenge. |
