... but do you have to hate on the manatees, too?A Citrus County tea party group has announced that it's fighting new restrictions on boating and other human activities in Kings Bay that have been proposed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
"We cannot elevate nature above people," explained Edna Mattos, 63, leader of the Citrus County Tea Party Patriots, in an interview. "That's against the Bible and the Bill of Rights." They're not even trying to hide their hate for... anything even remotely liberal, are they?

And elevating people above nature goes against nature itself.
And considering that nature will happily eat your bibles up if given the chance, I think we know which is superior.

"We can't give a shit about our planet and taking care of it. It's against the Bible since we need to leave it to God."
Seriously, next they're gonna demand that they should be allowed to take a rifle and blow the shit out of wildlife preserves. This is just further proof that they would rather run the planet into the ground than be told what to do. They are exactly like a bunch of spoiled children, so small minded that they think they're entitled to what they want when they want, and fuck how it affects everything around them.
The late Douglas Adams once talked about this attitude: a puddle thinks the world was made specially for it because it fits perfectly in the whole it sits in. Even when it begins to evaporate, it continues to hold that belief, until it eventually disappears altogether.

How is environmental law against the Constitution?
I know I'm not exactly a Bible scholar, but in Genesis, didn't God give Adam the responsibility of taking care of the animals?

Protip: Stewards are meant to take care of the kingdom, not destroy it.

I like how these geniuses fail to realize that protecting nature benefit humans too. All the litigation and protest signs in the world won't change the fact that we're living creatures whose well-being depends upon the environment we live in.
If anything, it's the tea baggers who need to stop elevating the all mighty dollar above human life.

They're not even trying to hide their hate for... anything even remotely liberal, are they? That's not entirely true...they like Social Security, and other great social programs as long as they're on the recieving end...

Ruling by the Bible is also against the Constitution. If you want to live in a theocracy, I hear Christians are treated really well in Iran....

I'm sorry you Tea Party people won't be able to take your yacht out as often... Oh wait, you're too poor to own a yacht...take your dinghy out more often to watch your corporate masters cruise by in their yacht.

Remember, kids--if we don't hurry up and burn the planet down, Jesus will never give us a shiny new one to play with.

In the KJV, it also says he gives Adam dominion over all the animals... which these whackjobs interpret to mean "yours to fuck over as you see fit"
