That's the intention. People are usually not good at lying on the spot. IF he comes up with something convincing, it will be found to be a blatant lie, & then you come down on his ass. If he doesn't, you just say that "looking in a handbag" is not a legitimate threatening action.

It's socially unacceptable for black people to be angry at injustice, just as it is socially unacceptable for them to shout. I'm not saying that you did or thought anything wrong, but this is as much a reaction to racism as lower pay for the same job.

I understand that, which is why I found it upsetting that it's gotten to the point where it elicits so little reaction. Also, she's not African-American. She's from Pakistan, and living in Canada.
