So, like that title says- What's your favorite music?
Mine would probably be thrash metal, with death metal and celtic punk pretty much tied for second.

Hmm...death metal, probably. Of course, I'm more of a general metalhead.

If I like what I hear, I'll listen to it. I do tend to favor (in the most broad sense of the genres) rock, folk, and blues. I tend to cringe at country and rap, but there have been a few exceptions in the past.

Primarily rock and metal, particularly folk metal, power metal, and symphonic metal. I also enjoy classical and ambient music, along with folk and "ominous/dramatic/ethereal chanting." To be honest, my tastes are quite varied. I even manage to enjoy the occasional rap/hip-hop, country, or pop song.

Oh god, my tastes are various and foreign. Off the top of my head I like music fitting under these categories:
French rock/pop French country Trailer music Japanese rock J-pop (I know, I am ashamed of this) Thai pop (I am ashamed of this too) Thai rock Taiwanese pop (still ashamed) Chinese folk music Chinese modern folk Kazakh military propaganda Russian neo-opera Mongolian ethno-jazz Mongolian folk-rock Mongolian traditional music Islamic Nasheeds Assorted national anthems
I think that covers most of my musical tastes. Yeah, I know.

I've always believed that every genre has at least someone worthwhile, at least one or two songs worth listening to. That said, classic rock (good for listening to when stoned), blues, 90s alternative (it's what was around when I was in HS and sometimes I feel nostalgic), and spoken word are my favorites right now.
Spaniel, I've been looking at "folk metal" for a few minutes now. I know what the words "folk" and "metal" are in respect to music, but seeing them together that way is producing a "WTF" reaction in my head. Would you be so kind as to link something for me? Thanks.

I guess if I had to pick a genre of rock, it'd be classic rock, particularly (but not limited to) British. Rock is just too generic these days to mention as a favorite genre, honestly. Followed by Folk, preferably the blusier varieties of modern folk.
But like others have said, if it's good, I'll listen to it.

Thanks. *Wooden Pints by Korpiklaani* Oh dear, I just have to give my two cents here. I listen quite a lot to different folk influenced metal subgenres and I don't care much about this particular song. So, here are a few other examples of the unholy union between folk and metal genres. Folk metal "Trollish hoedown metal" Pagan metal Viking metal / "Battle metal" Edit: Whoops, forgot to mention about my tastes in music. I'm open to different genres but mostly I listen to different kinds of metal. Movie soundtracks, blues, trip hop, rock and ambient are other examples of genres I occasionally listen to.
