Starship Enterprise would TOTALLY win. I'm going with the star destroyer, simply because one ship can wipe out all life on the surface of a planet. A photon torpedo can destroy a planet, as can going into warp speed too close to it. Just so you know.

Thats more like it, although a torpedoe fired into an unstable fault line can serverely fuck a planet up.

Could a "star destroyer" teleport Kirk onto the bridge of the enemy ship to kick the enemy captains arse and save the day? No? End debate, it's all over and the Enterprise won!

Oooh oooh and he'll get the prefix code, disable the Star Destroyer's shields, and after he beams onto the Star Destroyer's ship, he'll set it to self destruct, and after the enemy is beaten to a pulp he'll beam out in time to watch it explode in the comfort of his captain's chair, with the viewscreen broadcasting the explosion in HD?

Don't star destroyers carry heaps of TIE fighters as well? Clearly a Star Destroyer with its batteries of lasers and sheilds would ream the shit out of the enterprise which has like a phaser

Gif is relevant to the thread

Look guys, it's me, the guy who turns up late to the party and ignores the derailing!
But yeah, I think to some extent this sort of racial clusterfuckery that one gets in America is partially to do with something of a cultural pre-occupation with race. For instance, anyone ever read the book 'How to tell if you're white'? The author says that one does not actually have to be racially white to be white, which is quite true in the sense he uses it because it has absolutely nothing to do with race.
Coming from a society which sees class much stronger than race, I read everything in the book as characteristics of the middle classes, not white people. I think a great deal of what are perceived to be racial traits by some people are much more to do with class, as people have said.
That said, there is a racial divide which correlates fairly closely to the social divide, but I think this is attributable to the wider social and economic treatment of minorities, and the fact that ghettos are so extremely difficult to get out of.

What one wonders, however, is if the ghettos are difficult to get out of because people born into them are inherently screwed or if the combination of media, social influences, and governmental influences is having a detrimental effect on those who otherwise could leave if they wished.

Late to the party.
No you're no racist. I live and work with the people described throughout this thread. UPS overnights between Queens and Brooklyn. It's has poor hours and doesn't pay well. Most of the people working here couldn't get hired elsewhere. Like me a lot of these people live paycheck to paycheck. Some look for ways to get into schools to get better jobs to get out, others work several jobs. But those are the people looking forward. When the now sucks, some get stuck there. What pays this weeks bill is more important then looking for a college, cause being in college won't pay my bills. It's why I'm haven't gone back to school and why I'm looking for a third job, so I can move to a better place. I've lived below the poverty line my whole life. In fact I still do. I could have more money, but I'd still below the poverty line and I'd have less fun. I spend money on going out. Others spend it on alcohol, drugs, tv, video games. Like Vene said it's escapism. And it's not divided by race it's class.

tygerarmy, have you ever been to Donovans pub in Woodside? Awesome burgers. No point to this, I just noticed you were from Queens.
