tygerarmy, have you ever been to Donovans pub in Woodside? Awesome burgers. No point to this, I just noticed you were from Queens. It's been a couple of years but yes. And a Star Destroyer V the Enterprise. Star Destroyer. 1 on 1 Star Destroyer is equipped with more and bigger weapons, the Enterprise can out maneuver and may be faster, but probably only at speeds faster than light. And part of a Star Destroyers equipment is all those Tie Fighters. Enough Ties, especially if all the different types are used could cripple the Enterprise. If the Enterprise can call for back up, so can the Empire which would mean dozens more Star Destroyers, support ships, a few Super Star Destroyers and maybe a incomplete but fully operational Death Star.

Sorry, late and on topic. Coming from the place that gave racism towards black people it's very own special name, I would say no, that's not racist at all. Racism is still very rife here, seriously so. We have what people of colour refer to as 'coconuts'. This is people of colour who are 'brown' on the outside, but 'white' on the inside. I can't tell you how much I hate that term. If it was coined by 'the whites', I would hate it because it's racist and ignorant. But I hate it more since it was coined by 'the browns'. Why should getting and education, having pride in your appearence, working hard, having things, and being successful be exclusively a 'white' trait? I hate that 'brown' people see themselves as so useless, that anyone who is not is immediately called a 'coconut' or acting 'white'. Aren't people just people? I grew up during Apartheid, and my world was really divided. We didn't see black people on the streets, although they were allowed to 'raise' us as nannies and cooks and cleaners (don't trust 'em to walk the streets after dark, but by all means trust 'em to raise your kids!!) I really didn't know we even lived under apartheid, because it was never discussed in our home. My mom was not a racist and never even spoke about it. My school only became integrated in 1991 when I was in Standard 8 (Tenth Grade?) It was the first real experience I had with associating with 'brown' people, and the only conclussion I came to was that people are just people. You are going to have your lazy, ignorant, stupid people of all races, and that is just the way the world works.

Funny how there is this association with whiteness and middle class-ness. See the Stuff White People Like website. Yet if a white person is economically unsucessful, uneducated and violent people accentuate their whiteness. The American term "white trash" sums this up perfectly, the Aussie term "bogan" and the English "chav" primarily refer to poor, uneducated and violent white people rather than poor, undeducated and violent people in general. Just seems weird to me that on the one hand whiteness is associated with worldliness, education and at least moderate wealth but on the other with poor whites it's associated with the worst sterotypes put onto poor people like ignorance, intolerance, racism, sexism, violence, thuggishness, etc.

I'll admit I'm racist: I hate people with green skin! Just kidding!
I've been called racist before though.
I was working as a cashier at a pizza outlet and some kids came in and ordered a pizza. While I was making the pizza in the back one of the kids stole a dipping sauce from the rack on the front counter.
I know they stole it because one was missing when I had just refilled the rack seconds before they walked into the store. There was no one else in the lobby but those kids. Also, unbeknownst to the kids the whole incident was captured on the security camera.
When I confronted them about it the one black girl in the group snarked at me: "You're accusing me of stealing because I'm black!"
I just stared at her, mouth agape, because I'd never been called racist before and was shocked that this young girl was using it as a defense to deflect from getting caught stealing. I was completely dumbfounded. Till this day I still have no idea how to respond to something like that.
Oh, the end of the story is I gave the kids their money back and kicked them out of the store and ate their pizza myself.

There are certainly white people who give whites a bad name: Tom Metzger, James von Brunn, David Duke, Ian Jobling, Keith Bardwell, Rush Limbaugh, Don Black, Glenn Beck, Jay Severin, Pat Buchanan, Joe Wilson, Trent Lott, Alex Linder, Strom Thurmond, etc. And that's just on charges of bigotry. I could go on about white CEOs who fuck everyone else over too.

I don't think I've ever been accused of being racist, mainly because I hold equal disdain for all peoples.
One time a black girl asked me if I would get offended if she called me 'white' though. I laughed.

People overhearing will inevitably take the wrong end of the stick. Walk into my chemistry lessons and you'd think I'm the most homophobic son of a bitch ever. My best friend of eight years is gay and we'll just repeatedly rip into one another about it at a drop of a hat. I know he's fine with it, hell he told me so much himself when he came out.
