Really? I heard it was still going to be the god-awful Gamebryo engine. Then again, the person who told me this never bother giving a link...

I have one question. Will they keep their trademark leveling system? If yes they can kiss my ass. I'd be surprised if they kept that ass-backwards leveling system. Oblivion's system pretty much forced you to artificially grind minor skills and avoid your "main skills" if you didn't want a seriously gimped character. From what I heard, Fallout 3 avoided that sort of thing specifically because it was so messed up. I'd guess it'd still be based on skill usage, as opposed to xp, but without the crap stat gains if you don't use the exact right combinations of skills. But then again, I'm not involved in making the game, so I'm probably talking out my ass

I love how everyone always bitches about how shit that engine was, yet Oblivion and Fallout 3 both managed to be among the best games that were released in those years.
No-one see a discrepancy here?

Super excited about this. I had halfway given up hope on a new Elder Scrolls installment. I loved Oblivion and I miss my little dark elf. I love how everyone always bitches about how shit that engine was, yet Oblivion and Fallout 3 both managed to be among the best games that were released in those years. No-one see a discrepancy here? All I know is that I had loads of fun playing both of them. Now, maybe I'm easily amused. It wouldn't be the first time someone told......ooh, look, a shiny!

No, I don't really see a discrepancy here, the Engine isn't the optimum in my opinion, but it still is a great game. The feeling, the overall look, the modding possibilities, the story etc. I just hope, they will try harder to make the engine run smoothly and perhaps open up the engine for more complex scripting.

I can't say I'm too enthusiastic about Bethesda making their own engine. Considering Zenimax Media owns both id Software and Bethesda Softworks, I'd much prefer they use id Tech 5.

Oh look, the billionth RPG where dragons appear to be evil beings, if the trailer is any indication. Bonus for having them be basically Sealed Evil in a Can.
That's a trope that needs to die soon.

Actually, I like Sealed Evil in a Can. It's so applicable to the real world. And keep in mind that this is the Elder Scrolls, where virtually every living thing (and many unliving things) including tiny crabs will attack passing travelers and fight to the death.

Yeah, according to Elder Scrolls lore, dragons have been extinct from Cyrodiil Tamriel for centuries and only reside in Akavir. I hope we see some sort of conflict between Cyrodiil Tamriel and Akavir, perhaps the Akaviri taking advantage of the continent's political turmoil and invading.
EDIT: D'oh! Can't believe I made such a silly error.
