All I can say is: Praise be to Akatosh.

Yeah, according to Elder Scrolls lore, dragons have been extinct from Cyrodiil Tamriel for centuries and only reside in Akavir. I hope we see some sort of conflict between Cyrodiil Tamriel and Akavir, perhaps the Akaviri taking advantage of the continent's political turmoil and invading. EDIT: D'oh! Can't believe I made such a silly error. Meh, every province in Tamriel that isn't Cyrodill is under Cyrodill's jackboot anyway so I'd say you're technically right.

Also, can they take those lyrics at the end of the trailer and use them as the chorus for a song?

It's hard for me to anticipate a game set in a frozen shit-hole with the weather being like it's been. It couldn't have been set in Elsweyr? It's nice and warm there. But still, the news is pretty great.

But still, the news is pretty great. Read up on the lore of Skyrim. It sounds like a very interesting province to me. Dunmer cultural influences in the east and a lot of conflict with the Bretons and Redguards in the west. Skyrim waged major war against High Rock and Hammerfell only a few decades before the games began and claimed some of their western borders. There is still resistance in these areas it seems.

Most provinces have that kind of stuff going on. One of the best parts of the Elder Scrolls setting is that there it is rather fleshed out with a considerable amount of depth in every part.

But still, the news is pretty great. I personally think that it just wouldn't be right to have a game set in the homeland of an Elder Scrolls race that's basically based off of Nordic vikings without some snowy battlegrounds. But then again, I love the snow.

You can spend HOURS reading lore in that game. The actual storyline in the game isn't the best (it's not horrible, either), but those books make up for that tenfold. Also, Howl m'boy. If you're still playing Oblivion, check out the user-made mods. They made one where you can actually go to Elswer!

@ Art & tgrwulf: I was more ragging on the weather at the time the game was announced than the setting itself. It was like "shit it's cold! hey, new Elder Scrolls game! set in...Skyrim. That doesn't make me feel warmer... " The Jerall and Valus mountains were some of my favorite places to explore in Oblivion. Still haven't found everything, even, and nothing like having to actually look where you're headed so you don't go barreling over the side of a cliff or something. I still want a game set in Elsweyr though. But with my luck it'll be announced in deep summer.

Personally, all forms of pointear can get bent. Their men, around a tree; their women, over a table. Except the High Elf women. Those stuck up pricks can burn. Nords and Bretons unite! The Redguard and Orcs can join, too. Martial and tactical prowess, with arcane death. Hard combo to beat.
