AnimorphsAny one else really love this series? I've heard they are re-releasing it. For a series aimed at kids there was a lot of death and violence. Which Animorph was your favorite or did you relate to most? Back when I read them I felt I was 100% Tobias, now I think I am a mesh of all the mesh of Jake/Marco. I was happy with the way the series ended, although I would like a new series. I was thinking of re-reading them for nostalgia purposes.
Re-releasing it, huh?
I read her criticism. I agree with some of it, but it's still a book series, & anticlimactic endings still sort of piss me off.

Being a student and there being something like 54 books in the entire series, I doubt I'd be able to afford to read it now, although I suppose I could always pirate them if I really felt like it.
But yeah, as I said in that other thread, I loved the show as a kid but never managed to get my hands on the books. I'd love to get a chance to read them at some point in the future.

I have the whole series. 54 normal books, 4 Megamorphs, 4 Chronicles (including Visser, which isn't technically a Chronicles book), 2 Alternamorphs. And even the terrible Vegemorphs parody Troll published. And Andalite Chronicles, as you can see, is in both the compilation version available in stores and the 3-volume edition you could only buy from the tissue-papery book catalogues in school. I've had them forever. Some of them are kind of falling apart. =3

That is also my problem.
Funny, it took me FOREVER to see an episode of the series. Then I realized that nothing of value was lost.
I have Visser, The Andalite Chronicles, the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, & the main series book that coincides with the Hork-Bajir Chronicles. Turns out I never threw any of my books away. I also started reading .hack when I ran out of Animorphs.

Fun fact, most of the books weren't written by K.A. Applegate personally, they were ghost written.

I seem to recall that someone very famous, maybe it was Hans Christian Andersen, had books written that way because he had a million ideas that he couldn't hope to actually write himself.

It's more of a 1/3, 1/4 sort of thing.

Animorphs was like the best thing ever. I read every single book. Multiple times. I really enjoyed that it was a series meant for younger people, but didn't treat its audience like helpless, sheltered children. It dealt with a lot of really serious issues in as realistic a fashion as one can manage in a series about alien brain slugs.
And I have to say, Tobias was and probably still is the character I relate to best. I really identified with his troubles.

Marco, for me. I've long been a sarcastic little bastard, so... (The little part applies just as much as sarcastic! Double the motivation for being pro-Marco!)

You're trapped in the body of a bird, but a Physical God gave you the ability to turn into animals again?
I will also claim Marco.

Yes, as was mentioned earlier. It was something like 6 episodes, & followed a different sequence of events.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't that big of a thing.
