I've never seen her videos, but that was a good reply too.

Where's Lupa's response? Edit: on the original blog. Here's a screencap for anyone else who missed it. There's also a reply by Lindsay Ellis about halfway down.

Ah, the sweet smell of pure, concentrated butthurt.

Also, I don't understand the Scots joke but I'm sure I should be offended. It's a reference to a very common logical fallacy that we're seeing in action here.

I haven't made any progress in Witcher 2 because it seems like my video card just can't handle it. I'll have to fool around with the settings again, or wait until Christmas for a new one. I can't stand jumpy games. The Witcher 2 is the game that inspired my most recent upgrade. The GTX 570, coupled with a decent (not amazing, but decent) processor and RAM runs it beautifully on Ultra (no ubersampling) at 1680x1050. I haven't measured the framerate, but it's fluid with no stuttering or lag.

Speaking of Cho, what in the world was she doing in the last movie? Wasn't she supposed to be gone as she was a year ahead of Harry? She returned for the final battle, summoned by her DA coin which she'd kept hold of and still worked. This was in the book too. Though now I've seen the film, there's no indication of this.

On a related note, it's weird what you get when you only watch the movies, it seems. I've had several people of the decided belief that Harry and Hermione were meant for each other based on the movies. There was much RAAAAAAEG when he snogged Cho. To be fair, shipping on tenuous evidence isn't exclusive to movieverse fans. Symbolic flight (the idea that Harry and Hermione riding Buckbeak together in Prisoner of Azkaban symbolises their twu wub) was already a thing before the PoA film came out, for example.

And your first album can be "Devastated By A Relationship With A Gargoyle". Or else just "Relationship With A Gargoyle". I think I've seen that fanfic.

*chuckles, grins wickedly, and nods*Nice riposte, that. Indeed. ;D Palin is currently on Fox News Sunday and was asked about the Revere goofup. Her comment was essentially this(paraphrased because I can't remember exact words), "I was right, Revere did warn the British. The British troops had been in Boston for 7 years, everyone knew they were already here. Revere was warning the British that they didn't stand a chance." <facepalm> Now I just have an image in my head of Revere monologuing to tied-up Redcoats on a conveyor belt.Because of what that trope is named after, I have an image of him setting them up the bomb.

Lewis was a very smart guy, but he was probably a rapture-believer and definitely extremely devout. He was Church of England, so almost certainly not a Rapture believer. From here:

I'd be impressed if she knew Treasure Island more then just a movie with Muppets. I'd be impressed if she knew that muppets weren't alive. She is a muppet.

It is. I can say "go kill yourself" without any fear of repercussions. It's not legally binding or especially polite, but it's legal.
