*hugs* Thanks. I think it hurt a nerve because I a) am disabled, b) love the Internet and would have done exactly as she did, and c) was belted in a similar manner. Do you know what's sad? My backside is aching now, like it remembers. The next person to say autistic people lack emotion and empathy in my presence is going to get their face ripped off verbally. @itichirumon Can I set up a web design shop there?

Absolutely, Texas was leveled for the express purpose of a state-wide shopping mall full of happiness. It would be offensive not to!

How did this video get made and posted to You-Tube? You know, that is a very good question.

There are two possible explanations.
1) The family have cameras in the house. A lot of people do this, sometimes to keep an eye on their children when they aren't home, or keep an eye on cleaning ladies and dog walkers and nannies and people like that, and sometimes to deter burglars (or at least catch people undeterred).
2) The daughter put the camera there herself. It's hard to tell--or at least, hard to watch the video long enough to tell--if this is her room or someone else's, but if it's her own room perhaps the girl was aware that something was going to happen and, after years of abuse, was determined to get enough evidence to turn her parents in to the police.
As to how it got on YouTube, I don't know, but those are the only two explanations I can come up with as to why the video might exist in the first place.

The impression I got from reading a few articles is that she set it up herself or is at least savvy enough to be able to get the evidence and post it.

Speaking personally I would not put video of myself being beaten online, even (as in this case) seven years after it happened.
But then again, maybe she did put it up herself to show the world what an assbiscuit her father is and that being a 'respected member of the community' like, oh, say, A JUDGE OR SOMETHING doesn't preclude you from being a tyrannical, abusive monster.

Possible, but that's a lot of recording to go through. I thought it was hers, but it's hard to tell. At the end, her mother tells her to get her blanket because she (the girl) is going to be sleeping on the couch. If you look around the room, it does not really look like the bedroom of a teenage girl. I kind of suspect it's her parents' room. That would not stop her from planting the camera, but it goes back to what I mentioned above. The girl would have to 1) know it was going to happen (which she probably did), 2) know when it was going to happen, within a very short time span (so she caught all of it, but not so much that there was a lot of video to go through), and 3) get the camera turned on and off without her parents' noticing.

So, anyone got a transcript of the video for those of us on limited downloads?

Eric, it was her room. Why else would she be shut inside of it?
LHM: Not much of a transcript is needed. He gives her twenty or so beltings, the mother belts her a time or two, she's forced onto her stomach, pushed, sworn at, emotionally abused and then forced to sleep on the couch.

So, anyone got a transcript of the video for those of us on limited downloads? Judge beats his daughter about the legs (and threatens to hit her in the face) until she "bends over" on the bed so he can whap her in the ass. Her mother makes a deal that if she obeys, that SHE'LL do it one time and then leave. So she does. And then the father comes storming back in in a rage, saying that "he didn't get his lick in on her" and began to beat her again, forcing her back into the position, and telling her that SHE'S causing the rift in the family, that it's HER fault for being a disobedient child, that SHE doesn't belong in this house (This is the only accurate thing he's said. She doesn't belong in that house. She belongs in a house with a nice loving family that would do something normal for punishment like taking away internet privelages) and... Okay, I can't get into it anymore, my mind is actively rejecting the visual information it just received.

Actually, if you notice, there's video game posters in the background, like Star Fox Adventures.
I'd say this is her room.
By the way, I hope this guy served jail time. If he didn't, and if he's still a judge, then quite frankly, the law isn't going to cut it.
