Might be simpler than the sexism. The way things are, I would be more inclined to blame their clannish “My Party—Right or Wrong!” attitude. They are willing to excuse anything as long as it is done by a Republican.

Probably. I'm still unconvinced on the claims myself. They probably assume it's an evil DemocRAT plot.

Now that I think of it, the thread title is probably a bit misleading.
...It's still a sad reflection on the culture of the republican party.

And yet they were so quick to start up Weinergate. Or jump on Clinton.
It'd be more bearable if more Dems didn't make "anti-gay, pro-family" half of their election platform. Makes Republicans hypocrites as well as assholes.

And in the true sign of hypocrisy, Democrats get pilloried by these guys for far less.

Weren't these the same people that hammered on Clinton? No no, the problem they had with it is that it was consensual and it didn't involve rape.

I would like to say that a sex scandal wouldn't really bug me either when it comes to voting. (note: sex scandal, not sexual harassment scandal) I don't see what anyone's sex life has to do with their ability to run a country. (locally we had a ministers sex scandal in the news for a week, and to be honest I couldn't figure out why)
Although it is pretty sad that republicans would still support him even if he is guilty of sexual harassment. I think what makes that worse is that of that 70%, half of them would be women who support the sexual harassment of other women.
