I love how the christians claim that everyone is detracting from their holidays. However, there is much debate over whether or not Jesus was born on December 25. Some think that he could habe been born as late as January 6th. Now, the Romans were the first to celebrate Christmas on December 25th.
Is it possible that they spent much time debating and doing what research they could to fix that date? Could it be that it has nothing to do with the fact that Winter Solstice happens between December 21 and 22, and is a major pagan holiday? I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the pagans were having kick ass parties and not worrying about being all up tight about stupid shit like sex.
