My first concert was Pat Benatar, I was 7. Family rule that the older cousins could go to any concert they wanted, but they had to offer to let youngers go with them.
Bands I've seen live (a selected list) Pat Benatar Joan Jett The Misfits (original, with Danzig) The Misfits (no Danzig) Danzig Type O Negative Mest Supersuckers Social Distortion (12 times and counting) Mike Ness Groovie Ghoulies The Eyeliners The Queers Tool Foo Fighters System of a Down Ozzy Pantera Dropkick Murphys Flogging Molly NoFX Less than Jake Lollapalooza twice (once on the original tour, once on the reborn set) Warped tour 4 times Cornerstone fest once (don't ask)
And a host of others that I can't remember

My first concert was Foghat when I was 17 in 1978, then Led Zeppelin some time in the later 70's don't exactly remember when. Eagles, Cheryl Crow, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, KISS, Dave Matthews. I saw Chuck Magione (sp?) in the middle 80's and it was really good.

I went to the DC101 Chili Cook-Off today. It was awesome. I was especially excited to see the Offspring, who was headlining. It was so much fun.
My brother was with me and was attempting to protect me. Unfortunately, he is only one person. I was kicked in the head by crowd surfers more times than I can count. Two of them were dropped on my head. Many mosh pits broke out around us and I took an elbow to the cheekbone, a shoulder to the nose and an elbow to the boob, among other things.
I'm a little out of it and I have a major headache, but it was worth it.
Some highlights: The obese man trying to crowd surf gained more cheers than the women flashing the crowd. The number of people with bare feet was insane. Though the number of people with bear feet was as expected. An old man came up to my brother and said, “Do I look okay? I have no idea where I am right now. Okay, I’m surfing. Help me up!” Someone lost a shoe so he wrapped a plastic bag around his foot. Thirty-two thousand people were packed like sardines. As we were leaving, people got tired of waiting to go through the tunnel leading out. A few hundred people knocked down the fences and ran up the hill. Everyone else cheered.
It was a fun day.

A few years ago I saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra shortly before Christmas; transportation problems have kept me from going to see them again.
Owing to the different Renaissance festivals I've been to, I've seen Cast in Bronze several times, plus Wine & Alchemy and The Rogues.

My short but sharp list: - Ben Folds Five
- And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
- J Church (This was curtailed due to the J Church Drummer diving over his kit onto the wooden floor, breaking his nose and thus being unable to continue due to breathing problems.
- Sleater Kinney
Oh and any support bands from those gig I can't remember. Live music wise, that's a closed list barring a comeback from At The Drive In or Fugazi. Despite being 6"4" and 200-something lbs, I really don't like being jostled about by moshing in too little space when the music's too loud and doesn't match the sounds of the CD as they translate into my head. Also I've now seen the 100% pure sexy gorgeousness that is Corin Tucker in the flesh, there's nowhere really to go with it

I have tix to the NYC Opeth show next Tuesday. I seriously can't wait to go, this one's gonna rock. I am hoping to everything they play Burden, I might lose my mind if they do.

How were My Morning Jacket? I remember them sounding pretty interesting. However, the random stoned kid that hopped up to me and started banging his head for no reason kinda spoiled my memories of it.

I've always wanted to see them since I've heard them, but they haven't toured near me. Always seems like there is someone watching who ruins the show too. It's really great when they get called on it though.

I just realized I didn't list one of my favorite bands of all time that I saw live: QUEEN.
How the hell did I forget them?

One of those I was forgetting was seeing Cab Calloway live when I was a kid.
I also just saw Hellblinki on Saturday night.

Let's see... The Rolling Stones Paul McCartney David Bowie The Beach Boys U2
And last month, I was Elton John's last show in Vegas, and I'm seeing his tour with Billy Joel in July.
And its not quite the same, but I've seen the touring productions of Annie Rent Showboat Phantom of the Opera Avenue Q
And too many amateur productions to count. (Even been in a few non-musicals.)
