Why can't we be more like Japan and help our fellow citizens in times of crisis? Because the US had the Red Scare followed by Ayn Rand becoming very popular among douchebags (primarily the young ones) that fancied themselves to be brilliant philosophers. Other potential titles include: "FH2: Empathy is for fags." "FH2: Everybody Farts." "FH2: Kiss me, I'm selfish!" "FH2: Some nude self portraits." "FH2: Wizard School." "FH2: I'm so lonely."

I have an idea! How about we cut those OIL SUBSIDIES and TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY? And cut funding for the "War on Drugs", while we're at it. Hell, the whole damn budget "crisis" could be solved by clearing all drug offenders out of the prisons, and legalizing (regulating and taxing) drugs!

What was the Fountain head about? Could someone give me the gist of it? According to Tv Tropes it has something to do with architects who have crazy, modern ideas while everyone is happy with the old architecture. With some objectivism, and other Ayn Rand douchyness.

According to Tv Tropes it has something to do with architects who have crazy, modern ideas while everyone is happy with the old architecture. With some objectivism, and other Ayn Rand douchyness. The book is about compromise. An architect designs a brilliant building, radical and forward-thinking- probably an enormous brick block, in the standard randroid kitsch aesthetic. He is only able to design this building because, as a randroid, he is super-intelligent and creative (no socialists have ever created anything) However, the commissioners slightly modify it's design (presumably for practicality purposes). At which point he dynamites it. The point is, basically, if the world makes you compromise, blow it up.

Now, hold on a tick.
Who the fuck is Ayn Rand, and what does s/he have to do with a petty stuck-up architect who dynamited a building instead of compromise on design?
And since when is compromise a Bad Thing? I mean, sometimes, it's a Bad Thing 'cuz one party gets fucked over, other times because it's a shitty deal, but surely, ALL compromise can't be bad?

Ah. A hack writer who somehow got published and whose work is popular despite being utter shit. A 1930's version of Stephenie Meyer.
