Tonight, Michele Bachmann became the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge created by THE FAMiLY LEADER, an influential social-conservative group in Iowa. By signing the pledge Bachmann “vows” to “uphold the institution of marriage as only between one man and one woman” by committing herself to 14 specifics steps. The ninth step calls for the banning of “all forms” of pornography. The pledge also states that homosexuality is both a choice and a health risk. Read on here and here. |

I have an urge to email them a strongly worded email/semi-threat. Something in the vein of "This is your 1 and only warning: stop this shit now or when I get my Ph.D in neuropsych I will destroy you"
....It kinda loses it's effectiveness because I'm not actually threatening violence u.u. But that's something their side does, not ours.. even when their stupidity makes us want to cave in their skulls. We have to take the high ground.

Thats the only thing that brings me comfort. A Palin/Bachmann ticket would finally realize my dream of Canada and Mexico voluntarily annexing themselves into the US just long enough for the vote.. giving us the Leela line "Now normally we don't like you folks in the States, but when those two harpies are going as the GOP ticket, then we're duty-bound to try and stop them!"
Obama would go on to win ~45 states, Mexico, and Canada.
I'd joke that he would win all 50 states but... I'm too cynical to believe he could beat them in S.C, Georgia, Alabama, N.C. and Texas. And maybe others...

A few dozen people showed up at the town hall for the April 9 event, and Bachmann greeted them warmly. But when, during the question and answer session, the topic turned to gay marriage, Bachmann ended the meeting 20 minutes early and rushed to the bathroom. Hoping to speak to her, Arnold and another middle-aged woman, a former nun, followed her. As Bachmann washed her hands and Arnold looked on, the ex-nun tried to talk to her about theology.
